e.l.f Cosmetics Just Made Jennifer Coolidge’s Dreams Of Playing A Dolphin Come To Life

Finally, Jennifer Coolidge is back on our screens. Yay! Okay, it might’ve only been a minute but when you’re the funniest lady in Hollywood, a minute is too long. Off the back of The White Lotus season two, launching a TikTok (with the help of Jennifer Lopez) and of course, her hilarious Golden Globes speech, it feels like everything to come out of Jennifer’s mouth becomes instantly iconic. In particular, her recent red carpet interview in which she shares her desire to play a dolphin in an upcoming project.

So it goes, when Jennifer calls, the roles come knocking. And this time it’s e.l.f. Cosmetics who are making her dolphin dreams come true during their Super Bowl commercial debut.

Everything we know about the e.l.f. Cosmetics Super Bowl commercial…

Spotlighting the Power Grip Primer ($24, Kmart), e.l.f. are telling us to “gather [our] baby dolphin energy.” It’ll make sense in a moment, stay with us.

The commercial shows a glammed-up Jennifer doing her makeup in front of a mirror. Applying the primer to her face, she reacts in a way we’ve yet to experience: “Oh my gosh, I look like I came from the sea.”

“I look like a dolphin, like a baby dolphin” and all at once, her dream role is brought to life – dolphin sounds and all.

In a genius marketing move from e.l.f. Cosmetics, the brand took a globally beloved superstar, paired her with a recent viral Internet moment and even managed to keep it relevant to the product they were advertising.

Will this mark the return of ‘dolphin skin’?

If you can cast your mind back to the many beauty trends we’ve seen over the last five years, you’ll likely remember our obsession with ‘dolphin skin.’ Before there was ‘glazed donut’ or ‘glass’ skin, we were obsessed with recreating that same pore-less, smooth, dewy and downright sparkling finish of a dolphin.

And what better way to achieve this than by prepping our base with a grippy, smooth primer? Enriched with hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid, this primer has been built to last. Much like Jennifer’s acting career, your makeup is going to stick around and continue to please.

“I love it,” Jennifer says as she gazes into the mirror amazed at the texture. “This primer stuff is so sticky. I’m so dewy people are going to complain.”

And while we shudder to think the amount of money e.l.f. Cosmetics handed over to secure both Jennifer and this primetime TV slot, it only costs $24 to nab a bottle of the primer. Not too bad at all.

Have you tried this e.l.f. Cosmetics primer? If not, would you like to?
