How Vanessa Hudgens hit the beauty nail on the head

How Vanessa Hudgens hit the beauty nail on the head

I have a confession to make.

For a long time, I’ve kind of pushed Vanessa Hudgens to one side when looking for celebrity beauty inspiration.

If I’m being honest, I just didn’t really dig her hair or think much of her make-up looks – and I always decided she looked too ‘thrown together’ for any of the serious hair and make-up stories I was penning.

So, didn’t she go and show me? The hair, the skin, the lips – it’s all working for her at the moment! Especially at the premiere of The Frozen Ground in London recently.

If you want to copy the look for yourself, there are a few tips you’ll need first (Ness, you can consider this an attempt at an apology from me.)

ENSURE YOUR HAIR SHINES BRIGHT

Inject enviable amounts of shine into your strands to make them look freshly coloured (even if they’re not!) The light-ish ends of Vanessa’s tresses make me think it’s been a while since she’s refreshed her brown hue. We love John Frieda Luminous Color Glaze® Clear Shine, as it works to boost your hair’s shine, without affecting the colour.

ADD SOME RADIANCE WHERE IT COUNTS

Whether you’re rocking a plunging neckline, or simply want to add a degree of
dewy radiance to your matte make-up look, adding a touch of illuminator is a great way to highlight whatever you want to draw attention to. This is one thing Vanessa Hudgens is really doing right. She knows that illuminator must be applied to the highest points of her face; like the bridge of her nose and the apples of her cheeks, her forehead and the tip of her chin. If you want to add some illuminator into your life, I thoroughly recommend you get your hands on St. Tropez Skin Illuminator, as it provides a healthy, luminous glow to your face and body and lasts for ages!

WARM UP YOUR FEATURES

Opting for colours that are designed to work with your complexion is an excellent

way to tie your look together and provide a ravishing result. If you’re a fan of eyeliner, do it like Vanessa and opt for a deep espresso hue instead of your run-of-the-mill harsher black tones. If you love to use your bronzer to define your cheekbones, pair it with a deep pink or terracotta blush that will add depth and warmth to your complexion. Don’t be afraid of a liquid bronzer, either. Bobbi Brown All Over Bronzing Gel SPF 15 can be used to achieve a bronzed, dewy finish that will warm your complexion right up. In fact, Vanessa’s radiant complexion pictured below could be credited to a product just like the Bobbi Brown Bronzing Gel – and because she’s looking so lovely and luminous, it’s enough to make you want to jump right on the trend, isn’t it?

Side note: Ness, I want you to know I am really, really sorry for underestimating you. However, I would still lose the piece of hair that sweeps across your face and incorporate it into your crown-like top knot. But that’s all I’m going to say. Nothing more.

Which celebrity have you passed off as nothing special? Have any of them ever come back and surprised you by looking better than ever?
