How to wear turquoise eyeliner

I feel like, when it comes to eyeliner placement, the waterline almost always come in last place. Sure, that’s where you’d apply a nude or beige liner when trying to open up your eyes, but, more often than not, it’s the top lash line, just above the top lash line, and the bottom lash line that get all the glory.

And so day five of the blue eye make-up challenge saw me not only making use of a pretty bright turquoise NARS Larger Than Life Long-Wear Liner (Abbey Road, $38, meccacosmetica.com.au), but also giving the underdog of the eyes its time to shine.

For the last day, I applied as much of the striking hue as I could to my waterline and combined it with simple black liner and mascara. The result? My favourite eye look of the whole five-day challenge. And it couldn’t have been easier to achieve.

Follow these steps to recreate the look for yourself:
1) Using a black kohl or liquid liner, line your lid (just where your lashes start) from the inner corner of your eye to the outer corner. Keep the line thin at the outer corner and a bit thicker at the outer corner.
2) Apply two-to-three coats of mascara to your top lashes.
3) Take your turquoise pencil and line your waterline from corner to corner. For an extra punch, go over the line a couple of times. Oh, and make sure not to poke yourself in the eye. That hurts.

Here are a few other turquoise liners you can try:

COVERGIRL Ink It! Eyeliner in Aquamarine Ink
Max Factor Excess Intensity Longwear Eyeliner in Excess Aqua
Australis 10 Hour Wear Eye Pencil in Aqua Attack
Rimmel London ScandalEyes Shadow Stick in Tempting Turquoise
Essence Long lasting Eye Liner in Tu-Tu- Tourquoise
Maybelline NY Color Show Kohl Liner in Turquoise Flash

Do you ever apply coloured eyeliner to your waterline? Would you try adding some colour to your waterline?
