If you’ve mastered the art of a winged liner, then you may just be ready for a bit of a change. Not by ditching your winged line, of course. That’s just a ridiculous suggestion. I’m talking about changing other elements of your make-up to complement the…err…eye-catching look.
English model and actress Catherine Tyldesley has pretty much hit the nail on the head with this ah-mazing combination. Agreed? Obviously. So here’s how you can recreate her look:
Face
Start with a foundation that will reduce shine and give your skin a matte finish. ARTISTRY Balancing Foundation is the perfect solution for those with a bit more shine than they’d like as it helps normalise oils and give your skin that velvety finish.
If your under eye area is looking a little like you’ve been in the ring with Mike Tyson (read: dark and puffy), apply a hard-working concealer to brighten the area. Couleur Caramel Certified Organic Concealer will work wonders to cover those dark circles and hide all manner of sins.
Finish off with a light dusting of some finishing powder. Try Bodyography Everyday Finish Powder for a smooth, long-lasting finish.
Next, dot some pink crème blush on the apples of your cheeks and blend the product in and keep going to just under your cheekbone. Revlon PhotoReady Crème Blush in Flushed is perfect for this, as it’ll give your cheeks that flushed finish and a beautiful subtle glow, too. Plus it’s buildable, so you can create anything from barely-there to stand-out.
Eyes
You’ll need two types of eyeliner for this look: a regular pencil liner and a gel liner.
Using your gel liner (we love Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner), draw a line on your top lash line just where your eyelashes start. Draw the line from the inner corner to just a little beyond the outer corner, taking the line slightly up as you go. Then, make a line from the end of your wing down to the corner of your eye and fill in the empty space.
Now take a pencil liner and lightly line your bottom lash line. Don’t worry if your line falls just under your lash line, it’s okay to look a little rough and unpolished. Sheer Cover Mineral Eyeliner in Black is creamy enough to glide easily, but will stay put all day long.
Finish with a volumising mascara to give your lashes that ‘wow’ factor. Savoir Faire Volume Mascara will give your lashes that extra fullness without looking clumpy or spidery.
If you want your brows to stand out as much as Catherine’s, make sure they’re well-groomed. Her brows are pretty defined, so you’ll want to use an eyebrow pencil (not a powder) in long, thick strokes to fill your brows (short, feathery strokes will give you a completely different, more natural finish). ck one color Brow Pencil + Gel Duo will do the trick to accentuate your eyebrows and keep the colour in place.
Lips
Truth is, any bright colour will be a wonderful addition to this make-up look, but if you’re loving the pinky hue that Catherine’s sporting, try Innoxa Matte Lipstick in Baby Doll. The matte finish combined with the punchy pink hue is the perfect finish to an already beautiful look.
