Getting attention doesn’t have to mean donning kooky outfits like those that Katy Perry chooses to rock on a regular basis. In fact, you don’t even need to go anywhere near those lengths to have all eyes on you – it’s the subtle changes you make that will ensure you’re the epitome of eye opening.
Let’s talk colour coupling. Often there’s nothing more show stopping than a paired-up hue to bring out your best feature. And if you weren’t blessed with big, open, amazing eyes, then these are the tricks you need to get down-pat, stat.
Let’s start with some general instructions for pairing green and grey hues:
– Starting at the inner corners of each eye, use a lime green shadow (we like Bloom Pure Mineral Eye Shadow in Goldstone) and blend it across your lid up towards the crease.
– Next, apply a dark grey shadow (try Inika Mineral Cosmetics Mineral Eyeshadow in gun metal) to the outer corner of each eye, and blend it to fade towards the middle of your eye.
– If it’s looking a bit harsh, use your finger or a shadow brush to blend the colours together slightly, ensuring that, although the colours may overlap in the middle of your lid, you can still see each individual colour in the opposing corners of your eyes.
This can also be attempted with other colour couples. Why not try…
– Bronze and blue. Repeat the above steps, but replace the grey with the bronze, and the green with the blue.
– Purple and silver. Repeat the above steps, but replace the grey with the silver, and the green with the purple.
– Pink and orange. Repeat the above steps, but replace the grey with the pink, and the green with the orange.
