How can I keep my make-up mature but modern?

Q) I’m an ‘older lady’ (40+) and I want to keep my make-up current, without looking like mutton dressed as lamb. What’s modern and mature?

A) You may be over 40, but there’s no need to look like you are! Keeping your base product sheer is much more flattering to an older skin. Pout’s Foundation is designed to even out skin tone but remain undetectable and it won’t sit in fine lines or wrinkles like heavier products do. Stay with soft shimmer shadows rather than highly metallic colours or glitters and try and avoid too much matte shadow as this just absorbs light and can actually make wrinkles look deeper. Use soft crème blushers with soft, golden or peach tones for a transparent wash of colour. Think soft, dewy and lightweight and wear your make-up to look elegant and groomed. Don’t trowel it on in the hope of looking younger – it never works and can actually add years on.
