Achieving a ruby red pout is easy, ensuring it lasts all night long? That’s the tricky part.
While lip stains have long-wear down pat, often our lipsticks don’t. But instead of emptying your make-up bag and splurging on a stain in every shade, there is a way you can increase the longevity of your lipstick…
Here are our top tips to ensuring your lip colour stays put:
– Begin by lining your lips with a liner in a shade similar to, or slightly lighter than your lipstick.
– Once you have the outline, use that same liner to fill in the rest of your lips.
– Apply a coat of lipstick, using a lipstick brush if you want extra precision.
– Allow colour to ‘set’ for 20 seconds, before applying a second coat. Allow this coat to ‘set’ for two minutes.
– Using a tissue or the back of your hand, kiss off the lip colour (without rubbing your lips) until no excess colour is coming off.
– This should leave a muted, stained version of your lipstick on your pout, which will be the foundation for your lip colour, and won’t budge all night.
– Apply a single layer of your lipstick on top of the ‘stain’ and enjoy a rich hue on your lips that goes the distance!
