With the ‘spooky season’ upon us, we just knew that we had to include a round up of all of the queen of Halloween’s best costumes. Heidi Klum has drawn some serious attention in recent years for her OTT looks and flair for the creative, even hosting her own star studded Halloween bash every year.
We stand 100 per cent behind Heidi in her love for Halloween, between a spooky film marathon (or maybe just popping on Hocus Pocus for the thousandth time) to the mountain of ‘candy’ for the trick-or-treaters that mysteriously keeps depleting (we swear we don’t know where those wrappers came from!). And of course, the incredible makeup looks that come out of the season.
Starting in 2000, fuelled by her Halloween love and an ability to do her own makeup (yup, even doing ex-husband Seal’s makeup too!) really well, Heidi’s theatrical flair has only grown. So let’s take a wander down memory lane for Heidi Klum’s best Halloween looks…
Heidi Klum’s best Halloween looks
2001: Lady Godiva
To start off the collation of ‘Halloween Heidi’, she erred on the side of extra-yet-recognisable, even making an over-the-top entrance, on a horse… of course. Her Lady Godiva seemed to take a very classic Halloween-esque vampire angle, with just a small dribble of fake blood coming from the corner of her mouth.
2005: Vampire
The most classic Halloween costume? Vampire, for sure. What makes this vampire even more iconic is the lingering question of ‘is it Cher as a vampire?’ (we have our suspicions). This Halloween we’re going as Heidi Klum as a vampire. With her dramatic glittery red eyes and of course, statement vampire teeth, how could we not?
2006: Forbidden fruit
How far would you be willing to go to disguise your pregnancy? Giant apple costume- level far? It might not have been her intention but Heidi hid her pregnancy with her third child Johan under the giant apple (with her ex Seal matching the star as Eve). She finished with a splash of green face paint and matching voluminous lashes to complete the look.
2010: Robot
Learning to walk on stilts was one of the star’s biggest accomplishments for her towering Robotic look; fun for the catwalk, precarious after a couple of drinks. Anyone who’s worn glitter knows just how long it takes to remove all traces of the glimmering stuff, so spare a thought of Heidi’s purple covered face (and décolletage) after this sparkle-centric look.
2011: Human body
While we enjoyed Heidi’s own-makeup era there’s something to be said for the start of her ‘unrecognisable era’. As we know by now, she loves an entrance and for “the Visible Women” she was wheeled out on a stretcher. Yeah, we think this one might just exceed our makeup talents…
2013: Old lady
In an interview with People Heidi told them turning 40 really made her “wanna be old’. But the star was no regular old lady. Donned in the finest vintage Chanel she referred to herself as the ‘chic old lady’, and we wholeheartedly concur, Heidi.
2015: Jessica Rabbit
She’s not bad, she’s just constructed that way. Heidi put herself through extensive prosthetics to achieve the Jessica Rabbit body, not to mention the bold signature sultry overdrawn makeup. Think about how long it took to get out of it at the end of the night! We’re adding a toned down version of this one to our list of options; you know, sans the prosthetics!
2016: Herself…
How iconic do you need to be to ‘dress up’ as yourself for Halloween? Heidi Klum-level iconic, apparently. We say Heidi has earned her Halloween costume status, especially considering she came matching with a league of lookalikes.
2020/2021: Toilet paper mummies with her kids
Her most sentimental years perhaps? Having to cancel her party for the second year in a row, Heidi released ‘Last Halloween’ her own film clip featuring her four kids (as well as herself) as ‘toilet paper mummies’. We know we can all relate.
2022: Worm
You’ll be forgiven for needing to take a double take to see her, but we promise Heidi is in that costume. In a FULL worm costume she’s completely unrecognisable and we admire her commitment to the costume. Our only downside? She didn’t do ‘the worm’ as an entrance.
2023: Peacock
Just when we thought it couldn’t get any more extravagant, Heidi jumped in to prove us wrong. For her 2023 Heidi Halloween party, she underwent a six-hour transformation and emerged as a peacock. In true Heidi form, the supermodel kept us guessing ’til the very last moment (we originally guessed dragon), documenting her journey via Amazon Live and Instagram Stories. Her costume included real peacock feathers, the longest falsies we’ve ever seen and 10 Cirque du Soleil cast members who acted as her live-action Peacock tail. Iconic!
2024: ET
Who would’ve thought that any of the previous years could be topped? Not us! And yet, here we are, still loving Heidi’s amazingly OTT take on Halloween. The stunning star yet again documented the process via her Instagram stories and Amazon Live. And let’s be real, absolutely no one was guessing that she was going to come out (with her incredibly supportive husband) as an iconic (and animatronic) extra-terrestrial duo.
