Gwen Stefani’s Beauty Routine For The Gym Is, Um, Surprising

Gwen Stefani rocks her signature red lip to the gym. Because of course she does. Whether it’s the Met Gala or a spin class, the GXVE founder takes immense pride (and pleasure) in doing her own glam. Oh, except for that one time she went entirely makeup-free and looked impeccable.

Most people would whip out the micellar water before breaking a sweat (hello, our pores are clogging just at the thought), but you’ll actually find Gwen reapplying her makeup.

A rockstar move.

Which red lipstick does Gwen Stefani wear to the gym?

“Yesterday I went to the gym and I put on my red lipstick, and I looked really cute,” she told Metro UK. The exact lipstick in question? Gwen’s very own, GXVE Original Me Clean High-Performance Matte Lipstick ($40 at Sephora), of course.

This lippy, which she describes as being “matte, velvety and comfortable” was born from years of being asked, “what do you wear?”.

As one of the first stars to ignore trends and express themselves through makeup, launching her own brand, GXVE felt like a natural next step. However, it was a business move that appeared to have “made sense” for almost every other A-lister in the industry. Luckily for us, Gwen was never discouraged by the endless celebrity beauty brands continuing to pop up.

“If you love makeup, there’s never going to be enough and there’s always going to be something new,” she explained.

And considering the ongoing success of fellow celebrity brands that are co-existing and growing from strength to strength, she’s absolutely right. It seems there is in fact a piece of the celeb-beauty pie for everyone. Yes, even Brad Pitt’s $385 serums….

  1. Not a gym goer, but even if I were, there is no way whatsoever that I’d rock any kind of makeup. You’d only end up sweating it off! It’d be the same with any form of non-gym based exercise.
