Get the look: Amanda Seyfried’s glittery lilac stare

I seriously love lilac.

It’s one of those colours that compliments everyone; fair skin, medium skin and dark skin – not to mention every eye colour under the sun.
Luckily for me, purple hues are especially dazzling on brown eyes – and lucky for our friend Amanda Seyfried, they’re a dream on blue-eyed folks, too.

It’s for this reason that I thought I’d provide you with the step-by-step instructions you need to create this wonderful, whimsical look for yourself. Amanda rocked this lilac eye look at the premiere of her new flick, Lovelace in Los Angeles.

Discover how easy it is to incorporate a pop of shimmery colour into your make-up look and look as deliciously divine as Miss Seyfried…

Step one:

Prep your eyelid with an eyeshadow primer and then choose a light pink or purple hue that will be your base. I used the lightest shade in the Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips palette in Fashionista Eyes.

Step two:

Take a slightly deeper sparkly purple hue and line around your top and bottom lash line. Be sure to be liberal with the colour and don’t be afraid to blend the shadow out onto your eyelid and down, slightly below your bottom lash line. You can also lightly apply the shimmer up to your brow bone. We used shades from the Designer Brands Electrifeye Instant Colour Eye Shadow in Vivid Violet.

Step three:

Using a black eyeliner, colour your bottom water line and trace along your top lash line to create a jet black framing for your eyes. We used Maybelline New York Line Express Eyeliner in ebony black.

Step four:

Use a lengthening black mascara to curl your lashes. Alternatively, you can apply false eyelashes to achieve a fuller flutter. We used Benefit They’re Real Mascara. If you prefer falsies, be sure to opt for WASP Designer Lash DL9 as they’re natural-looking long lashes that blend with your own lashes to ensure they don’t look false. Plus, they can be used again.

If I can do it, so can you!

Handy hint: Don’t be afraid to combine a few different lilac and violet hues in order to create an individualised, eye-popping result.
