If you are like me and have lips thinner than what you’d like, but wouldn’t consider injecting them, then read on!
We shade and contour our cheeks, to achieve those perfect ‘born with it’ high cheekbones and we shade our nose to make it skinnier. Well, this is similar. Except completely opposite. Confused?! Don’t be. Basically, we want our lips to look fuller and plumper.
The trick is to use different shades of lipstick on your lips – today I’ll show you two ways of doing this, using two shades of L’Oreal Infallible 2-Step Longwear Lipstick (lighter shade is 111 Permanent Blush and darker shade is 109 Blossoming Berry). I opted for those colours because they are not in your face and will look good on a number of skin tones. Using only two also ensures you won’t break the bank!
So let’s get started.
Look #1: Shading it in
Use the darker shade of lipstick on the outer parts of your lips and the lighter shade on the inner parts of your lips – this will create the illusion of fuller lips.
Look #2: Colour blocking
Use colour blocking to achieve fuller lips – apply a lighter shade on the lip you want to make appear bigger and a slightly darker shade of lipstick on the lip you are ‘happy with’. This will balance your pout out.
When using L’Oreal Infallible 2-Step Longwear Lipstick, I don’t bother with lip liner – these are so pigmented (and hard to get off). You don’t really need a lip liner – just tread carefully when doing your lip art – you don’t want a red smudge across your face.
Final step
Finish off both looks with Step 2, the gloss coat – this will seal in the colour and keep your lips hydrated. The colour will last you for hours and no one will know if you’ve faked your way to fuller lips or if they are completely natural. Bingo!
L’Oreal Infallible 2-Step Longwear Lipstick comes in 14 different colours – so you’ll be sure to find a shade you like. I’m yet to decide on a favourite, but so far Continual Crimson, Coral Constant, Blossoming Berry and Flawless Fuschia are fighting for a top spot!
