Drew Barrymore Is Revisiting E.T. 40 Years After Its Release (And Not In The Way You’d Expect)

Get out your bicycles and your red hoodies because four decades after its release, E.T. is back. However, this time you won’t find everyone’s favourite extraterrestrial on the big screen. On the inside of a Flower Beauty eyeshadow palette however? Absolutely. Taking inspiration from her first ever acting role, Drew Barrymore has released eight “out of this world” matte and metallic eyeshadow shades in honour of E.T’s 40 year anniversary.

After the success of the Flower Beauty x Charlie’s Angels and the Never Been Kissed collaboration, it’s only natural that Drew would want to honour arguably her most iconic (and easily cutest) acting role to date. Closely followed by The Wedding Singer, of course.

So what can we expect? Well, in a video shared to her Instagram, Drew told her followers, “I’m so excited because we put a lot of love into [it].” She then went on to explain that the eyeshadow palette was intentionally designed to look like a DVD case (as we’ve seen with her previous movie-inspired collaborations).

Describing the palette as being “so gorgeous and chic” as well as “quite celestial and galactic,” Drew even went on to reveal which of the eight shades is her favourite of the bunch.

And the winner is? The shimmering navy-hue named ‘ET Phone Home.’

As any drugstore makeup fan would know, Flower Beauty’s Australian stockist is Chemist Warehouse. And while they typically carry an extensive range, we don’t believe the E.T. collab has quite landed down under, yet. However, the second it does arrive, we’ll be over the moon (see what we did there?).

Are you excited to try the E.T x Flower Beauty eyeshadow palette?

I love this movie, brings so much memories back!
I hadn’t realised she had other specials as well like Charlie Angels! I just have a look for them.
