What were you doing when you first found out you won the Glosscars prize pack?
I was away from the computer for the day, and simply couldn’t wait to check my emails. I was busy all Tuesday morning, but at lunch I had some downtime, so I phoned my Dad (who lives four hours north of me!) when I knew he would be home for lunch.
He was on the computer looking at surfboards on eBay. I said I was waiting for an important email, and asked him to check my account for the email from BH (which he found!), and then follow the link to the Glosscars Prize Winner article. He found the list of winners, and for what seemed like an age (but in reality was about 5 seconds!) he read out the names, and calmly as you like he said, “Bluerose”. I had to reconfirm, I asked, “Are you sure” and he read it out again!
I just kept repeating “I can’t believe it, oh my gosh, I’m so excited!” My dad was very sweet and congratulated me, but I think what amused him even more than my nonsensical elated ramblings were our online names! He was chuckling as he read them out to me – boys (of any age!) just don’t quite get it!
What’s your all-time favourite beauty buy?
It would have to be my Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Foundation. I started using this product over 6 years ago, and find it to be the best foundation I have ever tried. I wear it through winter and summer, and have used it during acne-ridden times and clear skin times.
It provides great coverage, has fantastic staying power and actually calms down the redness in any acne flair-ups I may be suffering. Several of my friends have started using it after they have seen how great my skin looks when enhanced by this holy grail of foundations!
If you were a beauty product you’d be…
A multi-purpose product like Nutrimetics Nutri-Rich Oil, or Trilogy Everything Balm. I feel happiest when working at a super-efficient level and usually have multiple plans worked out in my head as to how to achieve a specific goal (my sister has nicknamed me “Contingency Dan”!) so I think a product like this would best reflect my personality.
