Thanks to social media, there’s a new beauty trend every day. From freckle tattoos to blorange hair, 2017 has certainly kept us on our pedicured toes. But the latest beauty craze to take over our Instagram feeds is ruffling a few feathers – behold, the feather brow!

As you can see, these brows aren’t to be confused with the feathered brow, which is a brow shaping technique that aims to give the appearance of soft, full arches. No, the #FeatherBrow is designed to make your eyebrows look like an actual feather.

It all began with Finnish makeup artist Stella Sironen, who posted a picture of her eyebrows parted perfectly down the middle on her Instagram page. While it was originally intended as a joke, with Stella crediting a ‘glue stick’ as the hero product behind the look, the image quickly went viral. It wasn’t long before a multitude of beauty bloggers began to jump on the look and thus, a new brow trend was born.

And while the trend continues to raise eyebrows (sorry), the look is relatively easy to recreate. Simply part your brows down the middle and use a brow gel (beautyheaven loves the Benefit Gimme Brow, the jane iredale PureBrow Gels and the PONi Cosmetics Zebra Brow Gel) to separate each side of the part, creating a feather shape.
While we can’t see this look taking off for everyday wear, we wouldn’t rule it out for becoming a major music festival trend.
