False lashes face-off

Looking to enhance your flutter but need something a bit more than mascara can give? Well, a set of false lashes is what the doctor ordered.

But there are just so many out there, which ones do you get? We put some of our trusty members to work to try out four different sets of false lashes. Here’s what they had to say:

SAX LASH

We say:

The ready-to-wear false lashes will help give your lashes more volume and a touch of glamour.

You say:

Pros:
“I found them to be very natural looking. They were close to the length of my natural lashes and so just enhanced the volume of them and made them look fuller.” – Candyfairy.Read more…

“Temptress is a really wearable lash style – not entirely natural, but they’re definitely not over the top. I’d say they’re suitable for both day (depending on the dress-code/occasion) or evening wear.” – Tulip Love. Read more…

Cons:
“Application was very hard with this pair in particular, I couldn’t seem to place them close to the lash line. I noticed that the band itself is white instead of clear and even when I went over the band with eye liner to hide the glue, the white still showed through.” – lovejane.Read more…

“Application was difficult and not because it had a hard/stiff band, the opposite actually. The lashes are very flimsy and as soon as you remove them from the packaging they lose their shape and curl upwards so this made the glue application very difficult.” – Shopaholic55.Read more

MODELCO FLUTTER FALSE EYELASHES

We say:

Besides giving lashes more volume and body, these falsies are as easy to remove as they are to apply.

You say:

Pros:
“I found these [Flirty Flutter] quite comfortable to wear (for false lashes at least). I could obviously feel them, but I wasn’t irritated by them.
I feel like the quality of the lashes are quite good so I think you could get multiple uses out of them as long as you take care of them and aren’t rough with them.” – Shopaholic55.Read more…

“I found that these falsies [Show Stopper] felt very comfortable on my eyes and gave me heaps of volume and length, resulting in very fluttery eyelashes. The small embellishments also added an extra touch of glamour and uniqueness. Because the falsies are quite extreme, they are definitely better used for night time or for parties, in my opinion.” – Jasmen111. Read more…

“Overall, I really loved this pair [Mesmer-Eyes] in particular and I would have to say out of all the brands, these are my favourite and I will be looking into more of the styles available.” – lovejane.Read more…

Cons:
“Flamboyant is both a lengthening and a volumising style, however they’re definitely more on the volumising side as they are really thick. They could possibly overwhelm small eyes, due to how thick and dramatic the style is.” – Tulip Love. Read more…

SHU UEMURA FALSE EYE LASHES

We say:

Available in a variety of styles, these lashes work to enhance your lashes by adding volume, thickness and length.

You say:

Pros:
“Once I applied the lashes, I was pleased by how glam the V-shaped lash style looked! They’re definitely attention grabbing lashes – dramatic yet elegant at the same time. They’re not too overwhelmingly dramatic as they’re not a thick lash style, so quite a wearable style, despite how ‘artsy’ the lashes look in its packaging.” – Tulip Love.Read more…

“These lashes super soft and have a bit of shine to them as well. They are nice and sticky along the lash line which makes application nice and easy and they sit securely.” – Candyfairy. Read more…

Cons:
“These are definitely not for a newbie or anyone who wants something simple or natural, these are very dramatic and need to be worn with quite a bit of eye make-up to balance out the look.” – Shopaholic55. Read more…

“They don’t come with glue, which wouldn’t be ideal for someone who’s buying their first pair.” – lovejane.Read more…

DESIGNER BRANDS LASHES

We say:

The self-adhesive lashes help give lashes extra oomph without weighing them down. They’re also handmade and can be reused.

You say:

Pros:
“Once applied, I could see the added length and slight volume to my lashes. They are comfortable on the eye and stayed put throughout the day. They did not move or slide off.” – Jasmen111.Read more…

“They added thickness as opposed to noticeable length and drama, which I surprising liked for an everyday look. Overall, these are the perfect ‘my lashes but better’ style for every day and I would consider looking into buying more pre-glued falsies from Designer Brands.” – lovejane. Read more…

Cons:
“It doesn’t offer a whole lot of volume, but it does offer some natural length to lashes, which is perfect for anyone seeking some naturally lengthening lashes appropriate for day wear.” – Tulip Love. Read more…

“There is no lash glue included so I am not sure how many uses you would get out of these just using the one spare sticky strip provided.” – Candyfairy. Read more…
