Look, we’d get it if you were completely lost in the brow world. There’s a myriad of helpful brow fluffing, correcting and perfecting products out there, but what’s the right choice for you? Well, before we get started why don’t we break down the oh-so-confusing differences between a brow dye and a brow tint. So, a brow dye is usually permanent or semi permanent, and leaves behind a long-lasting colour. This is what you’d get if you got your brows done at the salon. Now here’s where the tricky part comes in. Tint can mean the colour left behind by your dye (“look mum I tinted my brows black!” *GASP*) versus an everyday tint that colours your brows until you wash it off (“I’m loving my new fibre filled brow tint”).
Today we’re talking about the dye version of tint. So, if you’re looking to tint your brows for an extended period of time (without the hassle of heading to/paying for a salon trip), then you’ve come to the right place. Here, we’ve gone on a hunt to find all the best available brow tints to shop at Priceline…

Revlon Colorstay Semi Permanent Brow Ink
From $14.47 (usually $28.95) at Priceline
Featuring innovative film-forming polymer technology, this ink is set to revolutionise the semi permanent brow game. The polymer technology works to seal in mineral pigments that deliver your tinted brows over three days of wear. The lightweight formula gives your brows a natural hold, and the tool comes with multiple built-in helpful applicators. A super-fine pointy tip delivers the tint, creating natural hairstrokes, while a helpful spoolie works to brush up and buff in any excess dye. Perfected brows are just a few strokes away.

And if you’re an at-home brow master, and want to branch out further, you could even opt for semi-permanent hair dyes. But make extra sure you’re avoiding your eyes with those! And of course, a fresh tint is nothing without a manicured brow to compliment it. So, be sure to add the Manicare Precision Brow Grooming Kit ($17.99 at Priceline) to cart to get the most perfect structured arches.
How long does brow tint usually last?
For most professional tints (think dye) the colour payoff will last from roughly three to six weeks (depending on the contrast). For most people it’s an easy once-a-month salon treat, or a simple addition to an ‘everything shower’ night. If you opt for a less long-lived eyebrow ‘tint’, you’ll likely be seeing colour payoff for about three days, give or take how hard you go during your daily cleansing routine.

Do you tint your brows? Do you head in-salon or DIY?
My brows could do with some conditioning. I’ve seen people talking about applying castor oil for extra growth. I don’t know if that works but my brows would certainly stay in place
I could definitely improve in the DIY brows department.
Never did it, they are really dark so there is no need for it.
I don’t bother with dying mine, they are dark enough
Lucky You Rinny
They say your brows aren’t meant to be identical twins but only ‘sisters’. Mine don’t even come from the same gene pool, so I have given up with dyeing them now.
Haha, @Dazza!
Do you wear a fringe to cover them?
Emphasize your eyes instead -very effective.
Maybelline Tattoo Brow 3 Day Eyebrow Gel Tint looks good but I am so afraid of trying this sort of thing. what happens if you make a mistake. ??
You end up looking a bit strange for 3 days LOL, No seriously- I think you can scrub them a bit harder and get them to fade quicker.
I tint my own brows, I’ve never paid anyone to do it. They look much better, it really makes a difference.
Yes and you get better at doing them with experience.
I’ve been using 1000Hr for decades. I love it! I can’t foresee a time when I’ll quit.
I have used a self tint kit and it was very good but I have also used mascara on after doing eyelashes and that is even better
I love Brooke but her eyebrows are just too heavy.
I love tinting my eyebrows! It makes such a huge difference
I should give some of these a try, they are naturally dark but I’ve got some nasty white ones.
I have used the 1000 hour eyelash and eyebrow kits for a number of years, love the convenience and the cost savings.
I have a few white/grey eyebrow hairs, the dye doesn’t seem to take well to those hairs.
I kept x2 old mascara wands and use these to apply the product as it gives better coverage than the one supplied in the box.
great idea aimee
Some treatment at night for brows would be great
My daughter just dyed her brows with the 1000 Hours. I don’t need to dye mine.
The older I get, the longer my eyebrows get for some reason!
I love doing my own brows – I know them very well!
I do my brows daily but have just started using gels to go over them to tame them after I have done my brows, but i would love something to condition them more
This is not something I need to do
Its just so much easier to get it done at the salon but to save money its better to do it at home sadly
I’m not sure I’d be confident messing around with dye near my eyes.
I do my brow at home.
