I will be the first to admit that being in the beauty biz has its perks. HUGE perks. Like getting to try heaps and heaps of products – sometimes before they’ve even hit the shelves.
But the thing is, I don’t take this task lightly. Not at all. See, while it’s all fun and games to play around with all the beauty bits that sit cross my desk, I’m acutely aware that it’s my responsibility – nay duty – to share my thoughts on said beauty bits with you. Oh, and I’ve recruited some of my friends to help. I am only one person, after all.
INNOXA CRÈME TO POWDER FOUNDATION
bh’s Di says…
“This cute little compact is perfect for popping into your handbag when you are out and about and in need of a make-up touch up. The compact comes with a mirror and applicator sponge so you can use it anywhere anytime.
This crème to powder foundation is really easy to apply. It starts out quite creamy on the sponge and absorbs really well, leaving a matte finish. My skin felt quite soft and smooth after application and it left my slightly oily skin shine-free without looking too dry. The coverage was quite light, which is perfect for me, but if you were looking for heavier coverage you might need to apply an extra layer or two.
All in all this is a great product at an affordable price.”
STRIVECTIN GET EVEN DARK CIRCLE CORRECTOR
bh’s Annalise says…
“I have, for as long as I can remember, had dark under-eye circles. It’s something that’s hereditary (thanks mum!) and I’ve tried a billions creams and quick-fix solutions.
I’ve been using the StriVectin Get Even Dark Circle corrector for just over 2 weeks now and I’ve definitely seen a noticeable difference in the appearance of my dark circles, making me look a little less tired and much brighter and perkier. The consistency of the eye cream is ever-so light, and it sinks in to the skin beautifully, giving you that moisturised eye area that creates the perfect base for make-up.
This is perfect for those concerned with the visible signs of ageing around the eyes and dark circles. I’m definitely going to continue using this product and will definitely be purchasing once I’ve run out.
5 out of 5 stars!”
REVLON LIMITED EDITION BY MARCHESA 3D JEWEL APPLIQUES
bh’s Carli says…
“Nail art stickers have a special place in my heart. Basically, they make me a better (nail-art-capable) woman. The extent of my manicure abilities extends to two coats of a polish. Maybe a bit of a heart if I’ve got a nail art pen. Stickers give me the opportunity to sport some fancy-lookin’ nails without breaking a sweat, and these stickers are no exception.
First off, there are enough sizes to cater for my nails (even my teeny-tiny pinky finger nail), so that’s a win. Next, they’re super-easy to apply. Just line up each sticker on your nail so that the edges meet your cuticles, flatten and smooth, and then just file off the edges.
Now onto the pièce de résistance – the patterns. The designs of each of them have been inspired by Marchesa’s couture gowns, so they’re very beautiful and ornate. My fave is Gilded Mosaic – a combination of gold and silver spots with 3D gold jewels. A must for nail art lovers!”
FLORENCE BROADHURST FOR CIRCA HOME 1942 VELVET PETALS FRAGRANCE DIFFUSER
bh’s Liv says…
“If you’re after a burst of fresh fragrance for your home that smells sophisticated with looks to match, then you simply can’t go past this stunning new collaboration between candle kings Circa Home and wallpaper whiz, Florence Broadhurst. The stunning packaging is only a piece of why this product is just SO good. The scents (of which there are four) were created to celebrate the collaboration of these two iconic brands and actually symbolise different periods in Florence Broadhurst’s magical life. 1942 pays tribute to Florence Broadhurst’s time in Paris designing fashion and the Velvet Roses scent is (in my opinion) the most subtly sophisticated of the bunch, with notes of fresh gardenia and white musks.”
