Benefit They’re Real Mascara
bh’s Carli says…
“Some people like eye creams. Some people like lipsticks. I like mascaras. Maybe it’s because my eyes are quite small and I love how the right mascara can open them right up. I’ve tried a lot – some I’ve loved, some I’ve hated. Benefit They’re Real? LOVED. I was a bit hesitant when I saw the brush (the bristles seemed to small and stiff to give my lashes the flutter I wanted), but after two or three coats on my top lashes, I was no longer concerned about that. The formula managed to make my lashes seem that little bit longer and much thicker, especially at the base. I did find that one too many coats and my lashes would look a bit too ‘spidery’, so make sure to apply with caution. It’s also a good idea to let the mascara dry a bit before blinking (it doesn’t take long, promise). In terms of longevity, the mascara stay put all day long (there was a tiny bit of fall-out on my cheekbones, but it was barely anything) and didn’t smear, smudge or move once dried.”
Sanctuary Spa Therapist’s Secret Facial Oil
bh’s Cherie says…
“I use some sort of facial oil every single night. Be it jojoba oil, rosehip oil or a mix of nourishing ingredients blended into one luxurious oil, it is a key player in my skin care regimen. My skin has been somewhat dry and dull later (you’re to blame for that, winter) so I was excited to try this cult British product. It contains a brilliant blend of sunflower, jojoba, wheat germ and rosehip seed oils, which helps ensure your skin is left feeling nourished, hydrated and rejuvenated. And yes, it did just that. Upon waking, my skin felt plumper and more radiant, making way for a happier me. I can’t wait for the long-term effects, and to see my dry skin disappear for good. Oh, and I also like this 100 per cent natural oil’s nifty dropper, which upon squeezing the top, fills with the recommended dosage for one use. Smart, Sanctuary Spa. Very smart.”
John Frieda Full Repair Protecting Root Lift Foam
bh’s Debbie says…
“I wasn’t sure if this product would actually work in my hair as my hair has a tendency to just fall flat – no matter what I do to it. The mousse dispensed easily and felt very lightweight in my hand, which is always a good thing because you definitely don’t want your product weighing your hair down. I applied it to the roots of my damp hair (as instructed) and began to style as usual (i.e. just blasted it with a hairdryer) At first I thought it wasn’t working because my hair seemed to be drying the same way it usually does – straight and flat – but as I continued blow-drying I noticed that there was definite ‘lift’ at my roots and my hair seemed a lot fuller than usual. By the time my hair was completely dry it had more bounce than it’s had in a VERY long time. I was pretty impressed. It also didn’t feel like I had anything in my hair – so no stiff, sticky or ‘crunchy’ residue, which is a big plus for me. Overall, I think it’s a great product if your roots need a bit of a boost!”
Estée Lauder Perfectly Clean Multi-Action Foam Cleanser/Purifying Mask
bh’s Diana says…
“First a confession: I am totally addicted to foaming facial cleansers. Others swear by the benefits of cream cleansers or oil based cleansers, but not me. I’m all for cleansers of the foaming variety. So when I discovered that Estee Lauder had released a new foaming cleanser, Perfectly Clean, I absolutely had to try it. The cream (a small amount goes a long way) foams up into a rich lather which once rinsed off leaves your skin feeling soft and clean without the dry, tight feeling other cleansers can leave you with. The added bonus with this cleanser is that you can also use it as a purifying mask. You just massage the cleanser over you face, neck and décolletage, leave it for 3 minutes then wash off. Your skin feels balanced, soft and gives it a luminous glow.”
