The Emmys is always a favourite of awards season, bringing together the best of television (and Netflix) for a night of glitz, glamour and accolades.
And this year the red carpet was nothing short of stunning, providing enough beauty inspo to last you all the way through party season and beyond.
Among the sea of updos, Hollywood waves, smoked-out shadows and classic nude lips, there was one particular trend that stood out brightly and boldly from the crowd: the orange lip.
We first spotted it on Aussie favourite Isla Fisher, closely followed by the beautiful Naomi Watts.
Jameela Jamil, Brittany Snow, and Leslie Bibb also had us swooning over the pop of colour, which we have to say looked absolutely incredible on every single one of them.
Some oranges were more neon than others, while other pouts carried a more orangey-red, but either way, it was undeniable that orange was the lipstick hit of the night. And as it heats up in Australia, we predict we’ll be seeing a lot more of the shade come summer —after all, it’s a top choice for bringing out your tan, too.
bh recommends:
- Clinique Pop Of Colour + Primer in ‘Poppy Pop‘ : For an extremely comfortable, sheer wash of orange that feels more like a balm than a lipstick.
- L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Made-For-Me Intense Lipstick in ‘Magnetic Coral’: For a more pigmented and slightly shimmer coral. It’s slightly neon but not OTT.
- Bareminerals barePRO Longwear Matte Lipstick in ‘Saffron’ ($34, mecca.com.au) : For a seriously bold orangey-red that won’t budge. Yep, even if you have coffee.
