Primer is one of those makeup products that some people swear by while others have no qualm in skipping the step altogether.
But we’re here to show you that if you find a primer that works for your skin type and goals, it can make a big difference.
Watch the video above to see how bh’s Sam and bh’s Aja select and use a primer that’s best suited to them. Because while primers are great for extending the wear of your makeup, they can also tackle some skin concerns right from the start.
For Sam, she’s all about hydration and glow as her skin is dry and dull. For Aja, who is redness prone, a little colour-correcting before foundation goes a long way.
And if you’re interested in the products they’ve used, you can read reviews on each of them here:
Sam’s makeup look
Step 1: Nude by Nature Perfecting Primer Hydrate and Illuminate
Step 2: Nude by Nature Luminous Sheer Liquid Foundation
Step 3: Nude by Nature Natural Setting Spray

Step 2: Nude by Nature Luminous Sheer Liquid Foundation
Step 3: Nude by Nature Natural Setting Spray
Do you use a primer? Have you tried any Nude by Nature products?
Primers really do make a difference to your skin! I’ve never tried the NBN ones. At the moment I’m using Bobbi Brown (the yellow one, in the jar), but it’s almost run out, and the Stila One Step Correct (multi coloured one) from Mecca. I’ve always liked this one, and always seem to go back to it.
So cute! Love the NBN primer that illuminates. Must have the redness correcting one for summer!
I use Primers if im wearing foundation but mostly now im wearing BB creams to work so dont use the primer as much
Both Sam and Aja look beautiful and it does make such a difference. Myself Personally I need to use a Primer that helps take away redness and enlarged pores on my nose as well. But like Sam I would like to have some radiance.
Wondering if you can use different Primers on different parts of your Face ???
Sam’s Skin looks so good. Radiant. The Nude by nature hydrate and illuminate primer sounds like a winner.
Primers do help a lot especially eye primers before I use eyeshadow, it prevents creasing and fading.
Tried a few primers felt icky maybe it was the cones, probably need to find another one w/o the cones
YES YOU CAN!! As an ex MUA, I remember using more moisturising primers on lower cheeks etc and mattifying on the oily t zone with combination skin. Ditto with colour correctors – anti-redness (green or yellow) on red areas and radiance boosting (violet or apricot) to balance and brighten skin tone.
Thank You Frenchy1 for your advice I will be buying a few different Primers to try on my face and see if it makes a difference.
The illuminate and hydrate primer is great, I love it. I think I will have to add it to my holy grail list.
Loved watching Sam and Aja on video! : )
I love the idea of primers, I should use them often.
really keen on giving nude by nature a go.
I kept staring at Sam’s hair. It has so much volume and bounce to it.
Great video, thank you.
Great video. Both ladies look great and I can see the difference in Aja’s skin tone very quickly.
Definitely need to prime
Lovely seeing the applications via video.
I love Benefit’s Porefessional primer, its the best.
I love the NBN correct and even primer!
I’ve never used a primer before. Great to see it in action
Love seeing the videos and I would be like Sam…..so one day will have to try what she used to see how it compares with what I use now.
They do make a difference but sometimes I’m too lazy or in a hurry and can’t be bothered adding another step to a makeup routine.
Very nice video. Sam, your skin is not dull looking at all! But I do love the NbN primer – it makes a bit difference.
RINNY Primers will become your friend. BH introduced me to them a few years ago so I went off to my local Pharmacy who had a Makeup Artist working that day (that was just luck I turned up that day). She took me around the store to show me the different types available and her current fav.
I use primer to even out my skin so that it’s smooth & to hold my foundation in place (especially good in Summer).
Great videos BH.
I don’t use a primer anymore. Actually, I don’t wear makeup very often these days
I like the idea of the first one, it is like all in one, wash face, apply the product that hydrates, illuminates and moisturizes….then a bit of base.
Sam & Aja both look great!
Neither of these would suit my skin. I think the Nude by Nature Perfecting Primer Blur and Mattify would be better for me.
I’d like to see a comparison video/pic. ie without primer then with primer.
I use a primer but really want to try the nude by nature one next. I also want to try the new nude by nature skincare it looks amazing.
I have never used a Setting Spray.
I always use a primer under foundation, I’m currently using one by Too Faced.
Hm. I keep hearing about primer, but I’ve never got around to trying it.
I wear a primer when I’m wearing foundation but much prefer a BB cream. I haven’t tried the new NBN primers.
I really like nude by nature primer. It hydrates the skin and feels good on the skin.
I occasionally use a primer, usually under make-up

lovely! I have my eye on the Perfecting Primer Even & Correct. that would be perfect for me
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve been using the Nude by Nature Perfecting Primer Hydrate and Illuminate on it’s own. I find it is pretty shimmery though.
These products really do make a lot of difference. Can’t wait until out of lockdown to use them in the real world and not just trialing at home
I don’t use a primer as I don’t wear foundation and I’ve not tried any Nude by Nature products.
I don’t use foundation but I use BB cream and sunscreen daily, so I’m not sure if I’m the target market. Would it be beneficial using it under a BB cream?
ooh so nice, so ne powder needed after foundation?
Great video!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
mutch better with primer
Yes RINNY. I mostly use BB cream but do wear foundation at times.
I apply sunscreen, then primer, then BB cream (or foundation). Primer is great for keeping my concealer in place too.
Thanks – I’ve learned something new today 🙂
I always use a primer. I’ve tried a few different ones, I’m currently using the Hangover Primer from Too Faced.
Since I discovered primer would not go without it.
