It’s hard to imagine Delta Goodrem has anything to cringe about when it comes to her past makeup and beauty looks.

From her days on Ramsay Street to her most recent album announcement, she has always been one of Australia’s most enviable beauties.

But talking to Sunrise, Delta reveals that despite the highs of hit singles and record-breaking milestones, when watching these highlights back, nothing can distract from the inner pain of a bad brow moment. She admits, “I look back and think, why were my eyebrows so skinny?”.

Her makeup artist, Noni Smith, (who has worked with Delta since she was 15) takes no responsibility for the Born To Try singer’s decision to follow the thin brow trend, shaking her head in laughter during the interview.
Fast forward to 2020 and we can breathe a sigh of relief, as her brows have successfully grown back with a full and fluffy vengeance.

Have you ever over-plucked your brows? Did they grow back?
My grandma told me when I was about 11 or 12 years old (and staying at their place for a couple of nights) that I wouldn’t ever need to pluck my brows and her advice stayed with me all my life – so I was never one to go overboard regarding my brows and still have my brows today (thanks Grandma!).
Back in the ‘old days’ everyone plucked their eyebrows! I did, but thankfully I didn’t overdo it. I’m quite happy with them the way they are.
I have thin brows due to thyroid issue, never from over plucking.
Unfortunately I still have thin brows on the very ends have to use Brow Pomade to fill them in, my younger days everyone plucked their eyebrows and the thin look was fashionable at the time.
I regret the overplucking. Lucky Delta’s grew back.
Still do not get “brow” obsession. Never noticed this “feature” , that should be changed at all…until internet/social media craze. Then I got on and saw everywhere this brow thing (whatever currently is going on…and normally not appealing at all). Anyways, I leave the brows to do their inherent feature thing: protect my eyes from dirt, sweat and moisture
Mum warned me not to overpluck my eyebrows like she did in the 70s, but in the 90s, I overplucked anyway! I wish I’d listened as they haven’t grown back fully. I also have thyroid disease, which thins the brows. Luckily, I have a fringe.
She looks gorgeous
I never over plucked because I never had much to pluck. Plus, my brows have always been so fair that stray hairs weren’t noticeable.
Ah, Delta did what everyone else did back then. There is nothing to regret at her eyebrows still look good. If there were no hairs now, then she would have a regret.
My eyebrows are pale so you cannot see the ones which are not in the right location and I am fine with that, I did puck a few of the stays a long time ago and I could not see a difference so I never did it again (effort with no payback was not worth the effort).
Same! My eyebrows never recovered from overplucking as a young teen.
It was the fashion at the time. Most of us had the skinny brows back then.
My eyebrows never grew back 🙁
Thankfully I never made my eyebrows thin thanks to my mum telling me from a young age that thick brows looked nice and would one day come back in style. She was definitely right!
I only plucked my eyebrows a little bit so they still have shape. hope they stay like this for some years.
Thankfully my eyebrows grew back after overplucking. I still get microblading though because my eyebrows are not naturally as full as I want them to be.
It was a ‘thing’ at the time! We all plucked our eyebrows too thin. Mine actually never fully recovered 🙁
I have full eyebrows as I have never plucked them much.
Eyebrows can do huge difference on the face.
I just leave my eyebrows alone!
We’ve all had make up regrets. Thinking back pink & purple eyeshadow on a very regular basis sticks in my mind.
Mine haven’t grow back fully much since having one shaved to remove a cyst when I was a child.
Nope… Never…
I’ve never over-plucked – too painful!
I overplucked years ago; fortunately, mine grew back and now I very rarely pluck them at all! I prefer them thick 🙂
i just neaten up with tweezers
It’s amazing what a big difference such a small thing can make.
Mine are very fine to start with, occasionally I will get a stray hair but don’t need to pluck much.
I never got on the skinny brows trend but no need to regret! We all have some things we cringe about later on.
Lucky my beautician always just shapes my eyebrow and never thought the skinny eyebrow was a trend
I guess many people made that mistake
Threading or tweezers and a small pair of scissors to combat the unruly long brow hairs are my weapons nowadays.
I have thick eyebrows and was self conscious about them during the skinny eyebrow phase, but thankfully it’s over and now I feel more confident with my natural brows
It was so all the range back then I look at my wedding photos and mine were thin too
my are thin naturally- sigh
I didn’t start doing anything with my brows until my early 20’s, so I think I managed to avoid the skinny brow trend! Unfortunately my poor Mum had hers hacked to death by her friends when she was younger & they never grew back.
I love Delta. She looks like she has barely aged
Delta is always so stunning hard to believe she ever had a beauty blunder of any sort.
One trend I’m glad I didn’t follow
One trend I wasnt fond of.
I used to wax and tweeze my brows a lot when I was much younger, but it was common practice then. Thank goodness the trend for thicker brows has returned.
But I can understand her. In my case, I often apply makeup on the bus to work. Can it become contaminated?
