It may have been a fashion spectacle, but we think the make-up well and truly stole the limelight at Chanel’s Spring 2015 runway show.
The models’ colourful, up-to-the-brows eye shadow was something to behold, not to mention their oh-so-cute oversized frames, which gave the look a distinctly retro feel.
According to the show’s make-up artist Nick Barose, the key to getting these pretty peepers is using an eye shadow with a shimmery powder formula. We recommend Minerologie Mineral Eye Shadow, which comes in a variety of shimmer colours. Alternatively, Designer Brands’ 48 Mineral Eye Shadow Palette has an even greater number of rich shades with just a hint of sheen.
To get the models’ lush, long lashes, Barose recommends using a mascara with a lengthening formula (as opposed to a volumising one). Our members love COVERGIRL LashBlast Length Mascara for a dramatic lash effect. They also rate freezeframe®’s INSTANT LASH Extensions mascara, which deposits tiny fibres to the tips of your lashes to give them even more length.
As for the rest of your make-up, this look’s all about eyes, so go easy on lip colour and blush to avoid looking more ridiculous than retro-chic.
