Whether you love, hate or are on the fence about Sex and The City’s reboot, And Just Like That, there’s no denying that whatever glam Sarah Jessica Parker’s character Carrie Bradshaw is doing, is working.
While there are moments of the new series that transport us back 20 years, head makeup artist Sherri Berman Laurence revealed to Harpers Bazaar that just as beauty trends have changed since 1998, so too has the makeup on 2022’s Carrie Bradshaw.
Speaking to these shifting trends she said: “Eyebrows are fuller, liners complement the lip colours and blush is more of a natural flush.” Adding that “bronzing has [also] taken more of a subtle approach.”
And with that, comes Carrie Bradshaw’s present day look.
After decades in showbiz, there’s no surprises that SJP comes equipped with her own personal makeup artist, Elaine Offers Woulard. However, that didn’t mean Sherri missed out on any of the excitement: “It was so much fun sharing a trailer with [Elaine] and sharing our latest favourite products together.”
“Elaine’s approach to [Carrie’s] look was fresh-faced and to make the makeup look easy,” Sherri explained.
So how exactly did she do that? Using these four products…
- Koh Gen Do Moisture Foundation, $120 at Revolve
- Tom Ford Shade and Illuminate Contour, $130 at Myer
- Stila Convertible Colour, $36 at MECCA
- Milk Makeup Lip And Cheek Blush, $31 at Sephora
And just like that, we have the exact recipe for Carrie’s dewy and glowing skin.
Have you been watching And Just Like that? What do you think?
The first two are quite pricey!
I love that the “more subtle” approach is being used!
All new products to me.
Yes I have been watching it and I’m loving diversity and equality they’ve brought to the show. Miranda is still my favourite.
Yes I love that too. The original series was all about eating at the best restaurants, buying expensive shoes and dating men. The reboot is more about accepting the good, the bad and the ugly parts of life and learning to accept everything that happens and not to be anxious about the next setback.
I’m hooked and can’t wait for the next episode.
I am going to have to check this out
Koh Gen Do Moisture Foundation is one of the best foundations I have ever tried in my entire life. I haven’t purchased it in a while but every other foundation I have used pale in comparison. This article makes me nostalgic about it.
Admit I’m not a fan of the show, but love the fashion and makeup.
I love the clothes and makeup and although I haven’t watched the show have seen snippets and it is very entertainment
Loved the fashion in sex the city thingy. And fun the girls had. Not familiar with the other show, stopped watching shows and movies years ago.
I don’t use blush or contour or bronzers or brow painting. But love very lightweight sheer tint of foundation to blur my skin and translucent lavender fenty powder. Mascara and lippy, all done! Glow comes from my own skin oils and exfoliation.
I haven’t watched it yet. Frankly, the second SATC movie was that bad it kind of turned me off the entire series – which I’d loved until that point.
I haven’t seen it yet but I enjoyed SATC so I will watch it. I like the Milk multi purpose makeup.
I watched the old series, loved them.
Certainly works for her.
Carrie looks like a real person not a Hollywood dream.
ooh the foundation sounds dreamy
I don’t go in for payTV – I spend too much time sitting around on my backside as it is!
I’m not about nudes or fresh-faced – gimme winged liner & bold lippy!
I notice that these products are all creamy, no powders that seem to highlight wrinkles & crepey skin on older women. This is a good reminder for all us over 50s.
I haven’t been watching the show nor have I seen Sex and The City.
Good to see some are not so expensive here while others are too pricey for me
Ooh how lovely, I love SJP
Me too!
Sarah Jessica Parker is an amazing Woman and she can afford to buy the best products, with some being very expensive glad that there are some affordable products as well.
I wish i knew how to contour properly
I feel like her make up artist has really nailed her entire look this series. I have noticed that as I get older it seems harder and harder to look more natural as products sometimes don’t go on evenly over fine lines. Her look is just perfection.
I haven’t heard this brands before.
Interesting…
I haven’t watched it and don’t know if I will get into. I loved Sex in the City as a teenager as I was learning more about the world
I’ll wait till the show is on free to air… I’m interested but not really fascinated by the idea of the continuation.
Would love to try these products one day but the first two are a bit expensive
I loved sex & the city. But am unsure if I want to try this new show.
abc
I really like the way diggy you recommend each product.
I’ve heard good things about the Tom Ford product, but it’s a bit pricey for me 🙁 :O
I love SATC. I haven’t watched the new show, though.
