Carrie Bickmore has been making us laugh since she launched onto Australian television screens alongside Rove McManus in the early aughts.
Now, almost 20 years later, she’s still making us chuckle.
The 43 year old recently shared her take on easy Halloween makeup ideas via Instagram and the results were hilarious.
Carrie Bickmore Halloween Tutorials
The host and voiceover actor delivered a duo of low effort, extremely gory Halloween tutorials that require no more than three products a piece.
The first — a bloodied pencil through the nose — made it look like Carrie had been attacked by an underpaid Office Works employee.
While the second tutorial saw the TV host gluing lashes and fake blood to her face to imitate what can only be described as an optometrist’s nightmare.
Got a Halloween party to attend, the designated trick or treat parent, or just want to entertain yourself for the evening? This is everything you’ll need to copy Carrie Bickmore’s Halloween makeup tutorials.
What you’ll need:
1/ Lash glue
A must have for any last minute Halloween look, copy Carrie and use the stuff to attach broken prop pencils to your nose or fake blood to your under eyes. Personally, we recommend picking up a tube of clear lash glue for SPX makeup. Try: Glam by Manicare Glam Eyes Eyelash Adhesive ($5.49 from Priceline), Kiss Strip Lash Adhesive with Aloe Clear ($10.99 from Priceline), or Ardell LashTite Eyelash Adhesive Clear ($7.99 from Priceline).
2/ Pencils
As far as we’re concerned, if you’re using a pencil as a part of your costume you need to make sure the recognisable red and black strips of your exam standard HB are on full display, otherwise — what’s the point? Lucky for you, they’re easy to find. Pick up the Staedtler Tradition Graphite Pencils Hb 5 Pack ($5.50 from Woolworths), the Paper Mate Woodcase HB Pencils 3 Pack ($2 from Target), or Staedtler Tradition HB Pencils 3 Pack ($5 from Big W) for best results.
3/ Fake blood
What is Halloween without a little fake blood? Paint yours on with a q-tip or a makeup brush like Carrie to emulate a gory wound site, or dip an old toothbrush in the stuff and flick it all over your skin for maximum horror. An inexpensive tube is all you need for a small spot of SPX makeup. We’re shopping the OXX Cosmetics Halloween Fake Blood ($3 from Target), the Anko Fake Blood Tube ($1 from Target), and the BYS Special Fx Halloween Fake Blood Liquid ($1.80 from Big W).
4/ False lashes
If you don’t already have false lashes laying around, we’re not going to force you to spend a large wad of cash on a set that will inevitably end up looking like something that belongs in an evidence bag. Instead we suggest adding a few more affordable options and keeping an eye out for local sales. We’ve hunted down these wallet friendly finds if you’re interested. Try: NYX Professional Makeup Jumbo Lash! Vegan Reusable False Cluster Lash ($13.17 from Priceline), Oh My Lash Date Night 1 Pair ($10.46 from Priceline), or Kiss Blowout Lash Pixie Lash 1 Pair ($12.99 from Priceline).
