Top trends at Camilla and Marc

It’s not often I get wowed by all three elements of a fashion show, but after watching yesterday’s Camilla and Marc show, I was so excited, I couldn’t wait to report back on my findings.

Not only was their new season collection effortlessly chic (I’m saving up as we speak), but the hair and make-up showcased also complemented the clothing perfectly and – most importantly – are all totally wearable and super-easy to achieve.

First up, the hair: “The hair for this show was soft, sexy and elegant, but with a lot of texture,” says Jon Pulitano, Creative Ambassador for Cloud Nine and Owner and Director of Sydney’s Headcase Hair salon. “It was slightly disheveled and haphazard, so that the hair just fell where it fell.”

Jon used Redken 5th Avenue NYC Guts 10 to enhance volume, before using a Cloud Nine Wide Iron to create texture and bends throughout the hair. Tresses were then slightly ‘mussed up’ and left loose, or pinned back into a low, rough ponytail and finished with Redken 5th Avenue NYC Workforce 09.

“This look is the perfect ‘done-yet-undone’ style for a night out, or a great way to disguise a bad hair day,” says Pulitano.

Next up, the make-up: “This look is pretty and fresh and the colours are perfect for the coming summer season,” says Make-Up Artist for MAC, Noni Smith.

Smith prepped the models’ skin with MAC Strobe Cream and dusted some MAC Iridescent Loose Powder in Golden across the cheekbones for subtle luminosity and a slight sun-kissed look.

MAC Pigment Powder in Neon Orange, Bright Coral and Acid Orange was then swept over the eyelids and blended up to the brow bone. (Note from bh: to keep this look less runway and more real-life, use similar hues but only take the shadow as far as the contour of each eye).

Lashes were then curled and MAC Zoom Lash Mascara in Black applied to the top lashes, and a nude lip created using MAC Lipstick in Kinda Sexy.

What do you think of these easy-to-achieve hair and make-up looks?
