But talking to Sunrise, Delta reveals that despite the highs of hit singles and record-breaking milestones, when watching these highlights back, nothing can distract from the inner pain of a bad brow moment. She admits, “I look back and think, why were my eyebrows so skinny?”.

Her makeup artist, Noni Smith, (who has worked with Delta since she was 15) takes no responsibility for the Born To Try singer’s decision to follow the thin brow trend, shaking her head in laughter during the interview.

Fast forward to 2020 and we can breathe a sigh of relief, as her brows have successfully grown back with a full and fluffy vengeance.

  1. My grandma told me when I was about 11 or 12 years old (and staying at their place for a couple of nights) that I wouldn’t ever need to pluck my brows and her advice stayed with me all my life – so I was never one to go overboard regarding my brows and still have my brows today (thanks Grandma!).

  2. Unfortunately I still have thin brows on the very ends have to use Brow Pomade to fill them in, my younger days everyone plucked their eyebrows and the thin look was fashionable at the time.

  3. Still do not get “brow” obsession. Never noticed this “feature” , that should be changed at all…until internet/social media craze. Then I got on and saw everywhere this brow thing (whatever currently is going on…and normally not appealing at all). Anyways, I leave the brows to do their inherent feature thing: protect my eyes from dirt, sweat and moisture

  4. Mum warned me not to overpluck my eyebrows like she did in the 70s, but in the 90s, I overplucked anyway! I wish I’d listened as they haven’t grown back fully. I also have thyroid disease, which thins the brows. Luckily, I have a fringe.

  5. Ah, Delta did what everyone else did back then. There is nothing to regret at her eyebrows still look good. If there were no hairs now, then she would have a regret.

My eyebrows are pale so you cannot see the ones which are not in the right location and I am fine with that, I did puck a few of the stays a long time ago and I could not see a difference so I never did it again (effort with no payback was not worth the effort).

  6. Thankfully I never made my eyebrows thin thanks to my mum telling me from a young age that thick brows looked nice and would one day come back in style. She was definitely right!

  7. I didn’t start doing anything with my brows until my early 20’s, so I think I managed to avoid the skinny brow trend! Unfortunately my poor Mum had hers hacked to death by her friends when she was younger & they never grew back.
