2020 is the year consumers are putting their money where their mouth is, literally.
According to Cosmetics Business, searches on Pinterest for ‘vegan lipstick’ have gone up 150 per cent in a year. Ethical and eco-conscious buying habits are on an upward trajectory, with consumers being more aware of the impact of their shopping habits than ever before. A record number of over 350,000 people signed up to take part in Veganuary for 2020, demonstating a huge amount of interest in living a more ethical lifestyle.
The importance of products being animal-friendly and vegan is front of mind for the 2020 beauty lover, and brands are meeting that demand with an array of vegan, high-quality makeup and skincare.
Ahead, we’ve put together a list of all the best vegan lipsticks you can pick up in Australia, and where you can get your hands on them.
I didn’t know some of these were vegan as that’s not something I go out of my way to look for, but there are some amazing lipsticks on the list. Proves you can still have a fantastic product without any animal derivatives.
OMG! So happy Bobbi Brown ones are vegan too! Have a few of them. And Pat McGrath Trance Matte (omg omg omg…they last and last, best bullet lippy as lasting power is concerned! Non drying either! I have 4 and all last for hours on end until I take them off in the evening, even after eating! 10 hours last time I wore one of the shades, looked same as when I applied it, insane. Even got compliments from family on looks, which is rare hahahah). Also have Jane Iredale one. Not really great but ok. NBN ones go bad quickly and are sticky, decluttered.
On my list to try: hourglass skinny ones. Heard formula is superb. But can wait, have amazing lippies in stash that need to be used.
Switching to vegan formulas is so easy nowadays! Choices are superb, formulas superb…who wouldn't?! Everyone says that they Love animals…so…ya. Easy to make a choice. Love
I have the nude by nature one, love the colour but the lipstick itself is very soft and snapped off so I wasn't overly happy. Have tried to put it back together without much success.
I really like the idea of vegan lippies, but my issue is how quickly their expire, so unless you use the lippy every day, you will end up throwing it out.
Own & like quite a few of these – Eye of Horus (Venus Pink is my go-to), Jane Iredale (love this one, but hadn't worn it for a while – brought it out on the weekend, still good), Nude by Nature (the Moisture one, not the Creamy Matte). Have also tried that particular Bite formula before & it too was good, until they discontinued it & made the Amuse Bouche ones, which I didn't get along with. (They too have now been discontinued, making way for yet _another_ formula.)
I meant a friend who directed me to spell caster called Dr PADMAN online who help people to solve their relationship and marriage problems i never believed in spell until i meet a man called Dr Dr PADMAN, who help me cast a spell that bring back my ex-lover who left me for two years before our marriage,His spells works beyond my imaginations and today i am happily married with two kids and me and my [ex-lover] now husband are very happy more than ever before, what more can i say rather than to say thank you Dr PADMAN for been there for me,contact him today and your life will never ever remain the same his Email: padmanlovespell@yahoo.com. Yes, definitely based on this list! Awesome variety and value here! I’ve splurged on some of the upmarket ones so I’m willing to try some of the more budget friendly brands considering the current climate! Thanks, BH! xx

Ooh it's good to know there's so many vegan lippies out there! I love Pat McGrath
So many amazing suggestions. Spoilt for choice. Trying to get through the ones I already have at the moment.
I do really like the Nude by Nature lipsticks which are mid range, though they are a little drying after a while.
What a big price range! I’ve be really interested in seeing a comparison to see if the $4 ones are dramatically worse in quality to the $63 ones.

So many to choose from! The Bobbi Brown and Nude by Nature look great!
I probably wouldn't switch to vegan only, but happy for so many options

So many gorgeous lipsticks to chose from. I’d love to try the Hourglass. It looks so luxurious.
I have the nude by nature one, love the colour but the lipstick itself is very soft and snapped off so I wasn't overly happy. Have tried to put it back together without much success.
So many choices and no need to use animal products to look beautiful 🙂
They are amazing quality too
I have a handful of those, but I just might have to buy the Pat McGrath.
The Two Faced Lippy has caught my eye – Love this informative article that helps us to make easy choices xx
soooo need to try some of these lipsticks love anything vegan and natural. Its better for the environment and ourselves
Wow the Colour by TBN is cheap and cheerful, and the review seemed quite positive
Oh me too!!but my son stuck his finger it in…lipstick destroyed.
Is vegan also natural or does it contain man-made chemicals?
I have tried a few of these, but a good handy list to remember for future purchases
Me too! But my son stuck his finger in it so lipstick destroyed!
beautiful looking lipsticks.
Good question Ellyloves. Initially I thought great a natural product but that doesn't mean they won't add the odd nasty chemical.
Oh boy, I really shouldn't be looking at lipsticks anymore. I have too many, its getting out of hand.
It'd be handy if you named the shades used in the examples, make them easier to find.
I really like the idea of vegan lippies, but my issue is how quickly their expire, so unless you use the lippy every day, you will end up throwing it out.
so many lovely lippies and shades to try
The hourglass I had try, they are amazing but the price is really steep for what you get.
Wow I didn't know my favourite Bobbi Brown lippies were vegan. Love their formula and finish
