Finding a concealer that doesn’t crease is a struggle. Even as a former makeup artist, I still have trouble keeping my concealer from creasing. I usually like to bake my concealer (very lightly) to keep it in place, using a yellow or translucent finishing powder. But lately, I’ve been trying to use less powder in my makeup routine, to get a more youthful, dewy glow. So, when M.A.C announced that they were releasing a NEW concealer that promises up to 24 hours wear, I knew I had to put it to the test.

The M.A.C Studio Fix 24-Hour Concealer is a 24-hour long-wearing concealer with medium-full buildable coverage. One of my favourite things about this concealer is that there are 30 shades in the range. So, if you’ve ever struggled to find your perfect shade, you’ve got a pretty good chance with this one. I decided to wear it with the M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 foundation, which recently added an additional seven shades to their shade range, bringing the total shade range to 50 in Australia. Very impressive. I used to wear M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 in high school and I honestly don’t know why I ever stopped wearing it. I know that I wore a lot of powder on top of my makeup back then, so I was curious to see how I’d find the foundation now that my makeup routine has evolved so much.
My first impressions
I applied the foundation in the shade NC25 with an angled kabuki brush and dabbed the concealer in the shade NC25 under my eyes with my fingers. I wanted to really test out this concealers staying power, so I used zero powder. M.A.C senior artist Nicole Thompson has previously described the M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 as bendy and I now know exactly what she means! The flawless coverage evened out my complexion perfectly, but my skin still moved and looked like real skin. The M.A.C Studio Fix 24-Hour Concealer has fantastic coverage as well. I usually cover my dark circles with a colour corrector before applying concealer, but I didn’t need to use one with this concealer. After applying the products, I moved on to the rest of my makeup and after a few minutes I still had no creases under my eyes.
Performance
After I applied my makeup in the morning, I attended two events and then sat at my desk for the rest of the day in air conditioning. I made an effort not to touch up my makeup all day, so I was surprised when I checked my complexion in the mirror around 5:30pm and saw that I still had no creases! The main photo for this article was taken at the end of the day and as you can see, my base stayed in place all day.
The verdict
I will definitely keep using this foundation and concealer combination. I received so many compliments on my base when I wore them and I am still amazed that the concealer stayed creaseless all day. I am officially ready to embrace a mostly powder-free makeup routine with my new M.A.C Studio Fix 24-Hour Concealer and M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 foundation.
Have you tried the M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 foundation or M.A.C Studio Fix 24-Hour Concealer? What did you think of the products?
Love the sound of these products, M A C is a well loved brand. A concealer that does not crease is wonderful.
I haven’t used this particular concealer, but have found Tarte Shape Tape to be a great choice. I don’t notice any creasing, a lot goes a long way and the coverage is solid, without looking heavy. I highly recommend.
good read.
