We’ve been to Shadow School, and we all know the basics on how to rock a blue, green, hazel or beautiful brown eye – but my conundrum continues: I can’t stop being in awe of a bright, ocean-like blue or an interesting hazel-green eye. Frustratingly, my dark chocolate eyes always seem a little ‘blah’ in comparison.
So over the weekend I decided to find a sure-fire way to set my peepers apart from my best friend’s baby blues, and by George I think I’ve got it…
My miraculous discovery (after consulting with several of my beauty pals for confirmation) is that those with big brown eyes can actually get away with sporting any shade of shadow or liner they like!
Now, before you jet off to your nearest MAC store armed with your credit card, take note: although brown eyes can pull off more eye shadow colours than any other eye, it’s not to say that every shade of that colour will work. It’s important to have fun with colour and find a shade that works for you.
I personally find that my new lilac shadow is perfection when I attempt a coloured smoky look, whilst a deeper, almost blackish violet makes me look like I’ve just been at the forefront of a serious tackle (so I reluctantly passed that one off to my green-eyed sister).
What shade have you surprisingly fallen in love with?
I love my brown shadows and eye liners
