If you’re anything like us, in the prime YouTube days you watched a significant amount of ‘what’s in my bag’ videos. Why were we so damn nosy? Unsure, but the fact remains the same, we’re still unbelievably keen to see what the stars carry around in their handbags. So, when we saw that Anne Hathaway had decided to partake in the trend we just knew it would be a great watch.
Anne has been showing off that she seriously just doesn’t age by making the most of her social platforms. She brought us her bizarre lip plumping hack and now, we get to check out everything from the interesting to the mundane in her handbag.
So, what are we waiting for, let’s unzip and see what she lugs around…
Anne Hathaway ‘What’s In My Bag’
To kick off her haul, Anne starts with the mundane, offering up a well-stocked kit of medical supplies, including a heap of Band Aids and wet wipes. Chic? Not exactly, but handy for sure.
But back to the haul of beauty products.
Because apparently Anne is planning to do a whole damn eye look while out and about on the run, she comes well stocked with eye-defining goodness. Oh and don’t forget a bold lip (but who doesn’t have several lip products floating around their bag?).
Eyes
For her eye makeup Anne pulls out a whopping six products from her ‘bags within her bags’ (IYKYK). And she pulls them all out rapid fire style, so take a deep breath because we’ve got… Tarte opening act™ lash primer ($43 at Tarte), Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler ($28.92 at Beauty Amora), Clinique High Impact Shadow Play Shadow + Definer ($57 at Myer), RevitaBrow Advanced ($119.49 at Amazon Australia), and a miscellaneous Chanel ‘eye pencil’. FYI, our guess is the Chanel Le Crayon Khol ($50 at Myer)! And then lastly there was the (interesting looking) two-in-one Jillian Dempsey FLYK Trick® Mascara ($38.12 at Jillian Dempsey).
Miscellaneous
Yep, and we’re still going here folks. So, Anne has one beauty must have item with her at all times: a sheet mask. Yep, random but relaxing. Her pick at the moment?Shiseido Vital Perfection LiftDefine Radiance Face Mask ($143.52 at Amazon Australia). Then came a stick of deodorant (Native in ‘Cucumber and Mint’, we believe ($13 at Native)), a bunch of hair-perfecting accessories: a brush (by the looks of it, the Wet Brush Detangler ($26 at Adore Beauty)), a comb, a hair clip and a singular hair tie. Rounding out this section? A myserious concealer (we’ll figure it out one day) and a Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush Stick in ‘Petal’ ($73 at Westman Atelier).
Lips
And to finish her very full bag off, we have everyone’s bottom of their handbag essentials. Lip products. And while she may have opted for a bold red Westman Atelier Lip Suede Matte Lipstick in ‘Le Rouge’ ($50 at Westman Atelier) because she “needed a red lip today”, her other lip loves are a lot more neutral. The By Terry Baume de Rose ($90 at MECCA) and a Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Pencil ($38 at Charlotte Tilbury) float around in there too.
Um, Anne, we’ve got a questions for you. How are you lifting all this up? And how do you manage to make it all fit in?!

Do you carry around similar things to Anne Hathaway? What’s your handbag essential?
Wow, that’s a lot of products, probably a trolley bag will become handy.
I cannot imagine walking around with a trolley bag??
yes it is a suitcase full -How would ever need all of these when out and about !
I agree, it sounds like she’s carrying a make-up kit and more.
Too Much !!
In terms of makeup I have lip balm and lip gloss in my bag
Yes that really is most essential
Wow, thanks for the suggestions, Anne! I’m especially interested in the Shiseido sheet mask and the eyelash primer 🙂
If she can fit all this into her bag she is a better person than I am!!
I have a couple of lip balms and a small tube of hand cream.
My bag has lip balm and hand sanitiser
that must be a big bag
I just carry a lippy in my handbag as far as personal care goes
That’s way too much to carry around
that’s a lot of products to carry around!
It depends on where I am going usually I’ll carry my water bottle and phone as I have everything on it digitally. But if going somewhere I’ll take lip balm/lip stick, hand sanitiser or sanitising wipes and tissues.
That is enough !!
Whoa, the price of that sheet mask.
Actually on second thought this did prompt me to think what I carry. Lip balms (plural), always on with SPF50+, hand sanitiser, lipstick, eyeliner, mascara, 2-in-1 brow pencil and gel, my hair supplement pills (I take two a day with food), solid perfume bar, and a general Cerave balm for dry patches. I also carry a hair oil and fragrance mist (I interchange between these). One is Shiseido Fino and the other is Rare Beauty.
I only carry lip balm and hand cream.
Most of that I get but eyelash curlers?
There’s no way I’d routinely carry that much around with me.
That’s a lot of products.
I have a toddler so you probably will only find me carrying my lipstick tops.
