Amanda Seyfried Will Only Wear This Beauty Product On Special Occasions

Here’s something we disagree with: Amanda Seyfried’s usage (or lack thereof) of fragrance. Don’t get us wrong, on any other day we’ll tell you that we’re hanging off Amanda’s every word. Since finding out the exact mascara Amanda wore to the Golden Globes, it’s taken up permanent residence in our makeup bag. Hint: it’s 24-hour wear.

However, during a recent interview alongside fellow Lancôme ambassador Isabella Rossellini, the ladies shared many insightful beauty values and tips, including one surprising habit from Amanda. Oh, do tell.

Which product does Amanda Seyfried save for special occasions?

Perfume. Despite receiving what we can only imagine are fragrance freebies by the truckload, Amanda leaves perfume out of her daily regimen.

During InStyle‘s interview – which accompanied Lancôme’s La Vie Est Belle ($109.99, Chemist Warehouse) campaign – the ladies were asked whether they ever share beauty tips.

Isabelle’s answer? “We actually had opposite ideas about perfume,” she revealed.

“I wear it every day, even when I spend the day alone at home. Perfume is like a second skin to me. Amanda uses it only on special occasions.”

As for skin care? Well that’s something the ladies could agree on. “We both use it every day,” Isabella noted.

In fact, not only does Isabella count perfume as a standard part of her daily routine, she actually shared its significance on her mental health. As she reflected back on the pandemic, Isabella said “I realised that if I stayed in my pyjamas, didn’t get dressed and didn’t use makeup and perfume, by the end of the day I was really depressed.”

Counter that with the days where Isabella would get up, get dressed and get on with it – all of which meant “perfumed myself, used skin care and a dash of makeup” – she revealed feeling stronger and more empowered.

“There is magic in putting yourself together,” Isabella said. Amen to that. But hey, if spending the day barefaced and in your trackies is what your soul craves, power to you.

  1. I used to wear them daily until my son was born 10 weeks premature, we couldn’t wear it in the Nicu and because he was in hospital for 11 weeks all up I became used to not wearing it. His 6 and a 1/2 now and I must admit it was until recently I purchased one of my favourites to wear to work.
