TikTok Sleuths Have Just Discovered An Hourglass Skin Tint Dupe In Aldi

The year might be coming to a close but the Aldi dupes are certainly showing no signs of winding down. From the cult-favourite Caviar range (which has been touted as a dupe for La Prairie’s $690 cream) to an affordable competitor to this popular $900 massage tool, fans of the budget supermarket giant have just discovered their most exciting makeup dupe yet.

And the best part? It’s going to save you around $74 a pop.

What is the latest Aldi beauty dupe?

In a video shared to TikTok by creator, Georgia Baigrie, she says, “[Aldi] just keep bringing out all these dupes and treating us all for Christmas,” before showing the Hourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint ($84, MECCA) against Aldi’s Lacura Hydrating Tinted Moisturiser ($9, ALDI).

Another user commented on the video (which already has 14,000 views) asking, “how do you know what these dupes are?” to which Georgia responds, “Aldi tend to make it incredibly obvious with the names.” And she’s not wrong.

As with any good dupe, the Hourglass and Lacura formulation have mirroring qualities. First and foremost, both versions claim to be lightweight tints infused with the hydrating powerhouse ingredient: hyaluronic acid. Plus, there are even evident similarities in the gold-hued packaging.

So what kind of results can we expect? A softening of fine lines, naturally blurred imperfections and a boost in moisture levels. Sounds like the perfect base for summer, doesn’t it?

Though Aldi’s tinted moisturiser isn’t up on their Aussie site as of yet, we’re not alarmed. We’re expecting this hydrating tint to hit our shelves any day now.

So, as with any Aldi launch, be patient, look in, around and underneath the the shelves, and eventually, when you least expect it, you’ll find one. Good luck!

  1. No never bought skincare from Aldi and don’t think I ever will even though I’ve heard their sunscreen is a dupe for the Cancer Council one with similar formulas.

  2. My but what a difference in the price? Hourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint ($84, MECCA) against Aldi’s Lacura Hydrating Tinted Moisturiser ($9, ALDI). Worth trying the Aldi one?

  3. Make sure you use sunscreen as well as this though as I was reading make up companies to not have the same stringent tests as sunscreen only companies and your coverage is like to be less so this should be an extra cover not your only cover

  4. I will need to have a better look at Aldi later this year when I catch up with my friends in Melbourne . I have never liked the Aldi shops as so messy but perhaps another look

  5. I was so excited to hear this. I can’t wait to try it out…I tried out the Lacura lip tint which was a dupe to the Dior one and it was great. Just great. I have high hopes for this one too. When it / if it does reach Australian shores 🙂
