All The Best Aussie Beauty Moments On The 2024 AACTA Red Carpet

The 13th annual AACTA awards (Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts) (formerly known as the AFI awards) took place over the weekend in Queensland. The awards show showcases the stellar Aussie talent from our own shores, and we simply love to see it!

The celebration even brought in the bright-shining, home-grown celebrities from Hollywood; such as Margot Robbie and Cate Blanchett. But even more importantly, it shone a bright light on all the incredible emerging actors, with many claiming their own AACTA award trophies.

But who took home the (hypothetical) award for ‘best glam’? Let’s find out; here are all the top glam looks from the AACTA red carpet…

Australian Actors At The AACTA Awards

Margot Robbie

It’s tough to include a list of incredible Aussie actors and not include our golden gem Margot. Her neutral-yet-elevated red carpet glam was thanks to her top-tier makeup artist Pati Dubroff. The superstar powerhouse was nominated for (and rightfully won) the Trailblazer Award.

Cate Blanchett

Personally, we here at beautyheaven are thrilled that we have such incredible actors that can ‘make it big’ and still have time to travel and work back down under. Cate gave us a beautiful blush moment on the red carpet, only to change into the most hilarious costume (self titled ‘middle-aged Barbie’) to present Margot her award.

Elsa Pataky

While we may have been missing her husband (Chris Hemsworth) and her brother-in-laws, Elsa reminded us that she’s a shining star in her own right. The adopted-Aussie glimmered as a bronzed golden goddess, the perfect choice to make a shimmery statement while presenting awards.

Harriet Dyer

This fiercely funny lady is the definition of a triple-threat. With acting, producing and writing as skills in her tool belt, she’s nearly unstoppable. Add on a win for Colin From Accounts, a red lip and a winged eye and the world is seriously her oyster.

Marta Dusseldorp

Taking to the AACTA Awards stage to present her fellow Aussies with their own accolades, Marta made sure she stood out in the fashion stakes and went more subtle-chic with her beauty look. Wowing with a ’60s-inspired mint green dress, she kept her makeup and hair simple, focusing in on her crystal blue eyes with a lick of smoky eyeliner.

Deborah Mailman

Deborah was beyond glowing when she won the award for ‘Best Supporting Actress’. Taking to the carpet to show off her new trophy, Deborah was the picture of radiance; her cheeks were blushed to perfection and her lashes were abundantly luscious.

Celeste Barber

Australia’s funny girl Celeste Barber was nominated for ‘Best Stand-Up Special’ but unfortunately lost out. But does an award matter when you look that good? Her makeup was absolutely flawless, her tan was glowing, and that dress?! Stunning.

Sophie Wilde

This emerging Aussie is one to watch. She’s been on our screens now for a few years, evening earning herself a BAFTA nomination. If like us you’re glued to the Boy Swallows Universe series, you’ll already be all over her. Sophie’s simple serene gown complemented her touch of light pink makeup.

Anna Torv

You might remember effervescent Anna from the days of McLeod’s Daughters, or for her more recent roles in Fringe and Mindhunter. But what earned Anna her well-deserved accolades this year was her leading role in The Newsreader. An edgy ear cuff and a dazzling smile were the only accessories she needed.

Aisha Dee

For us, Aisha Dee’s American accent was so perfected in her role on the Bold Type that we actually have a hard time remembering this solidified star is a long-running Aussie TV vet. But where do we know her from? Oh just a little show that took over our childhoods called The Saddle Club. Yep, we thought you might remember that! Our favourite thing about Aisha (aside from the fact that she never looks anything less than flawless) is that even though she had a bonafide US hit on her hands, she still returned home to film more Aussie TV (thank you Aisha).

Tersea Palmer

Teresa is yet another US-solidified star that makes the effort to remember her Aussie roots. And why wouldn’t you show up to a red carpet that you can walk attached to your (equally as shining) star bestie? Even though she didn’t win ‘Best Lead Actress’ for The Clearing, her bright blonde, bang-adorned hair and bold scarlet lip will always be winners in our eyes.

Abbie Chatfield

Leave it to Abbie to bring the laughs and the inspo. She may not have won any hardware this time around, but boy did she bring back blue eyeshadow in a big way. We’re left questioning: do we need to revisit this vaguely traumatising look? Catch us in the mirror giving it a go later today…
