If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands!*
We already know that Australia is pretty great (Every time I come back from overseas I pretty much kiss the ground). But now we can add another accomplishment to the list. Basedon criteria including income, jobs, housing and health, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has named Australia the happiest country in the world for 2013.
For our third year running (take that Sweden!) our results have been well above average in fields relating to paid work and life expectancy from birth.
“Australia performs exceptionally well in measures of well-being, as shown by the fact that it ranks among the top countries in a large number of topics in the Better Life Index”, says OECD.
So well done Australia. Keep doing what makes you happy and maybe we can make it a fourth year in a row.
