Like many of us, mum of three and co-host of The Project, Lisa Wilkinson, has admitted that body positivity wasn’t something that just came naturally.
At home in her kitchen, the presenter and journalist previously took to her Instagram to share the mindset-shifting event that saw her develop a newfound adoration and respect for her body.

Lisa explained “as a teenager or in my 20s I didn’t have a body positive mindset,” going on to reveal that it wasn’t until the birth of her children that things began to change. “I realised how incredible my body was that I could manufacture, make, produce (along with the help of my husband) a whole human being”.

Crediting this experience as the reason “health is such a priority to her”, Lisa’s newfound mindset saw her let go of appearance bugbears and instead focusing on “what a body is for, what a body can do and how much you should nurture it”.
When it comes to staying fit, Lisa’s husband doubles as her training buddy, telling her followers that they have made a fitness pact to do a couples 30-minute circuit workout with the goal of improving their time with each session.
And judging by how healthy and happy Lisa’s been looking, we’d say it’s definitely working.

Have you experienced a particular moment that shifted your perspective on body image? If so, what was it?
Nope…not really. Im not happy with my body and wish I could swap it for another model….LOL
Great role model!
I have. It happened about 4 years ago, standing in a changeroom in a sports bra & tights, realising that my legs weren’t as bad as I’d long believed they were & that yes, my thighs & legs looked pretty decent in lycra thank you very much.
Whilst I’m still not perfect when it comes to accepting my body as is (have put on weight in recent months, which I can attribute to not moving enough & eating too much comfort food), I know that I’m better at it than what I was in my 20’s. I do think such things can come with age, but I know it doesn’t work the same for everyone.
(P.S. I love Lisa Wilkinson! She’s such a great role model for women of all ages.)
I used to be my own worst critic. I look back at old pics of myself and wonder what I was thinking! I now exercise for my health and to feel energised. I’m not going to look like I’m in my 20’s when I’m in my 40’s and that’s ok. I try to be the best version of me but don’t obsess over it no more.
Sometimes it takes time to appreciate our bodies.
I hate my body.
Never had issues with body image. Mine was successfully made by nature in its whole glory. Grateful for the machinery. Thank you Dad and Mom! Now just keeping it optimally functional, so I can have fun in life =D
I unfortunately still have body image issues
A healthy body is more important than what shape it is – if you’ve got one of those be grateful and it doesn’t matter what shape it is – we are all different shapes anyhow!
Seeing someone I love suffer through anorexia and reading widely to find ways of supporting her route back to health made me realise how wrong and culturally driven many of my own beliefs around food and the body were (and how damaging and pervasive those beliefs are–diet culture is very lucrative and sustained by those who benefit from it, but it’s not at all healthy). Now I believe it’s possible to be healthy at any size and that we’re all beautiful – with our own unique bodies and shapes.
I remember when I saw Lisa’s face in every edition of Dolly that I would buy – she was the editor! Who would have thought she actually didn’t like her body – she was a great role model nonetheless. I have a lot of respect for her and she really does look so fabulous! Go Lisa!!
I just looked up Lisa’s age. 60yo. She looks fabulous. I hope my body looks that good at 60.
I was in my early 50s when I realised I could no longer just eat and drink what I wanted to without putting on weight. Gradually over a few years my weight was slowly going up so ever since then I’ve been very conscious of having to exercise more and watch what I eat just to maintain a healthy body.
Brings back memories. Used to love reading Dolly and bought it from the newsagent every month. Haven’t seen Lisa on tv, she’s come a long way.
Still have body issues especially regarding my weight trying to eat healthy especially now that I am cooking mostly with an Airfryer. Definitely need to work on exercise and my self esteem.
I constantly struggle with body issues, but I love Lisa Wilkinson! She’s a great role model!
I like the idea of partnering up for exercise and bonding.
I care very much about my health and go above and beyond to look after myself. I stopped pressuring myself about my body image several years ago. There is so much more to health than how we look.
Give, it up. No-one on here gives a crap about your useless spam!
Oh yes, I was devoted to Dolly magazine back in the day.
We all have to do it , sooner the better.
It would be great to have the perfect body, but that’s not going to happen so I have to be content with what I have 🙂
You only get one body, treat it well.
I too want to have a great body like lisa does at 60 mind you.

Mental health is very important too, a body is just a shell really, be healthy and be your best
I’ve been on the Gaia website this week to order some products and I saw a post that Lisa has been there not too long ago enjoying herself! No wonder she’s in a great frame of mind. I think I need a holiday home up thataway!
Hello everyone, I am proud to testify this testimony. i saw a post on how a lady got her husband back and i decided to try the spell caster that helped her because my relationship was crashing. although i never believed in spell work i reluctantly tried him because i was desperate but to my greatest surprise the spell caster Dr Ayoola helped me get my husband back after 5 month of divorce and my relationship is now perfect just as he promised, my husband now treats me like a queen even when he had told me before he doesn’t love me anymore. well, i cannot say much but if you are passing through difficulties in your relationship contact him on his email: drayoolasolutionhome@gmail.com or website : https://drayoolasolutionhome.com/ or text him on whatsapp: +31684065675
Hello friends, an awesome and amazing testimony about a Great spell caster i really love to share. I’m Bello by name from NIGERIA. Getting my wife back is what I least expected and could never imagine. I and my wife have been married for ten years and we have been living happily but all of a sudden she changed completely and turned away from me and i never knew what was going on, i tried to ask her but she refused to tell me what the problem is, and as time went on she sought for a divorce. I was so worried and confused, and i did all my possible best to get her back but it wasn’t easy, i thought all hope was lost, and during my search for a way out, a friend of mine who had similar problem told me about a great spell caster called (Dr JB) who helped him get back his wife also. I never believed in spell casting in my entire life or magic because I never thought it would work but I tried to give this man a chance and to my greatest surprise, He cast a spell to bring her back, but today we are back together into a lovely home with three beautiful kids. We are happy together again and I am using this opportunity to tell anyone passing a similar situation to unlimitedlovespellcast@gmail.com OR unlimitedlovespellcast@yahoo.com WhatsApp him +1(415) 286-5884 . and you will be the next to tell a new testimony.
I think it’s hard to feel good about your body all the time. I’ll settle for mostly.
You learn to hopefully accept your self over time
She looks amazing.
Very challenging to get over this mental hurdle permanently.
So sensible, life is short
Your body represent how you treat and care.
