Product placement in music videos is nothing new.
Heck, Prada just launched a whole new makeup line off the back of a five-second lip balm cameo in Sabrina Carpenter’s music video for her new single ‘Please, Please, Please’.
But Katy Perry’s polarising ‘Woman’s World’ music video takes the concept to another level, with Perry and her back-up dancers being captured from a birds eye view, flashing the best-selling Womanizer Premium 2 at the camera, whilst they dance in perfect synchronisation with the hot pink sex toy in their hands.
The slap-stick sexuality of the entire production, and it’s critique of commercialised feminism isn’t lost on Womanizer’s Head of Communications and PR, Verena Singmann.
“We are so excited to see our Womanizer products being featured in Katy Perry’s new song,” Verena said in a press statement. “This song not only celebrates women in all their different roles and life stages but empowers them to live their lives without expectations or pressure.”
Womanizer‘s central mission as a brand has been to remove the stigma around women, female pleasure and masturbation, which is why the sexual wellness brand decided to partner with Katy Perry for the visuals of her latest single — wanting to portray the Womanizer Premium 2 as a signifier of female power and pleasure.
“It is our mission to empower women to embark on their own journey of discovering pleasure and sexuality without social stigma,” Verena Singmann explained.

Maybe it’s just me but I find product placements annoying
Not just you.
Wow this is one way to advertise!!
Love this!
Me too !!
Most interesting indeed
Very and different
Fair enough -men have had it all for too long !
The advertising is very distracting.
It’s an interesting way to advertise products.
I’m not sure I’d buy a product like this based on a music video.
to me a music video makes no difference to any other advertising.
Interesting
Interesting, that’s good
