Despite never actually doing any interviews around her healthy lifestyle, we know a lot about Kate Middleton’s diet. In fact, the royal rumour mill works overtime when it comes to anything Kate.
From the shampoo she uses to the Botox alternative she swears by, her list of royally-approved products is long. But because we all know the key to looking and feeling great starts from the inside, details of her workout routine and daily eating habits are also a big part of her holistic wellbeing.
So if you’re looking to be inspired to nourish your body with good-for-you foods, here’s what Kate Middleton eats on the regular.
Kate Middleton’s diet details
It’s been widely reported that Kate’s eating habits are similar to the Dukan Diet, which favours lean protein, fruits, vegetables and healthy fats and oils.
Breakfast
Kate is a big fan of smoothies and often has one to start her day. According to the Daily Mail, it typically contains “spirulina, kale, matcha, spinach, romaine, cilantro and blueberries”. So think less dairy, more greens.
Lunch
Ever tried a watermelon salad? A recipe featuring watermelon, avocado, cucumber and feta cheese is said to be a favourite of Kate’s for lunch. And one we’re definitely trying come summer!
According to the Daily Mail, raw foods often feature at midday meal time and Kate Middleton’s diet also includes gazpacho and tabbouleh. She’s also reportedly a big fan of ceviche – AKA raw fish marinated in the juice of lemons or limes and spices.
Snacks
Although we’d love to say Kate has a weak spot for BBQ Shapes at snack time, she tends to stick to fruits and vegetables (particularly goji berries) when the munchies strike. She also once told a child at Great Ormand Street hospital that she ate lots of olives when she was little, which could still be a snack habit today.
When raw food isn’t enough, she’ll reach for popcorn — a low-calorie snack to keep her full in between meal times.
Dinner
A traditionalist when it comes to dinner, Kate is said to enjoy heartier meals in the evening. Particularly ones she can share with her family. In 2012, Vanity Fair wrote that “in the evenings she indulges her hobby of cooking William’s favourite supper, roast chicken.”
Her other go-to recipes include curry and soups. Kate and Will are also reportedly fans of sushi.
Dessert
Former royal chef Darren McGrady revealed via Youtube that sticky toffee pudding is one of Kate’s favourite desserts. “She’s got to eat healthy all week and then, this is a special treat on a weekend, the sticky toffee pudding,” he said.
Honestly, we’re drooling just thinking about it.

What do you think of Kate Middleton’s diet? Do you share any eating habits?
If I had a chef preparing all my meals I’d be eating like Kate too!
Oh so true! I’m sure they have amazing chefs.
yes who has the time to do all that prep when you work all day lol
Yes I was going to say that! Absolutely agree with you.
I love fruit but not all the time. I think a balanced diet is good.
I would starve on that. Need waaaay more fruit, no mush stuff (smoothies nah) and love my carbs in big “salad” bowls lol
I love my carbs too
Yeah, a watermelon salad does not sound filling to me. Maybe I’d try that as a side dish.
Whatever she does it works, she looks so slim and healthy.
How lovely! Eating fresh whole foods as much as possible with an occasional treat is the best diet
Yes and I wonnder if that toffee pudding gets cooked for her or if it’s actually her specialty that she enjoys whipping up herself! I bet its great either way.
It sounds healthy
Her diet sounds good, me? I need to treat myself with naughty foods from time to time
Can’t say I would enjoy what she does so will stick with what I like. The salad with watermelon sounds different though. I like Kate but Ikind of think a little weight wouldn’t hurt her around the waistline.
Yes, she has lot a lot of weight over recent years and does look a bit too thin at times.
Id love a chef to prepare all my meals. That would keep me healthy.
It certainly would help.
Ha! Yes, we could all be so healthy if we had the money and enough time!!
I envy those people that can eat healthy food all the time(and have cooks at home)…I just can’t, healthy food is SO boring!
I use that excuse too -LOL
I think I would be hungry all the time on this diet. It’s a little bit boring too.
I was really surprised that she actually cooks in the evenings! I suppose not every evening, like when they’re travelling (which is a fair bit by the looks). I thought all the cooking was done for her but sounds like she actually enjoys doing a bit of cooking.
She sounds really down to earth and a very goo match for Will.
Sounds so amazing! The watermelon salad looked sooooooooo gorgeous! X
Love the sound of the fresh Watermelon salad and the naughty toffee pudding. Kate looks very healthy fresh and pretty.
Yes she is amazing and no wonder she has an amazing figure too. Good on her
I’ve never heard of the watermelon/feta salad combo. Not two ingredients that I would pair together.
I need my carbs to keep me sane. I’d love a personal chef.
Coincidentally, I tried this exact watermelon salad last week because a relative said “This is what Kate Middleton eats!” It tasted good and a great salad to eat during the warmer days.
I love the sound of that and would be happy to try it too
I love watermelon. This would be a delicious salad.
Not sure I would want it every day.
Orthorexic.
ooh i wonder what this means, i will have to look it up
Yes, I just looked it up, too. It’s an obsession with eating healthy food. It sounds like a good thing to “suffer” from.
That’s not me.
I wish I was as strong as Kate -I love the look of the food she eats but I also have a sweet tooth
Must be nice to be able to afford what you want to eat all the time and have a personal chef.
Kate would have a dietitian and a chef.
I would try that salad. Not sure anyone else in my household would though.
Whatever she is doing it works. Kate looks amazing.
That salad looks amazing!
She looks amazing!
I am not sure I would eat a watermelon salad for lunch. It’s always a dessert for me.
That diet would not work for me. I need my food cooked and lots more healthy carbs
This is inspo to get creative with my meals.
I definitely eat better in Summer as I love salads & fruits. Winter I just want comfort food. Will be making that watermelon salad for sure.
I run most days so i feel my body craves carbs
Love Kate’s eating habits to keep her looking good and healthy! I often have a green juice first thing in the morning for energy before the gym and find it’s great for my skin. Salads are also a favourite especially during the summer!
So very glad that Catherine The Duchess of Cambridge eats lots of fruits and vegetables, can see lots of healthy snacks for the Children as well.
Sounds yum! No wonder Kate looks so fab!
I love curry, soup & sushi, but keep that green smoothie out of my sight, haha!
Yum sushi. I love it too.
Yeah my daughters got me onto that stuff! Yum!!
That watermelon salad sounds yummy!
I’ve had the watermelon salad but I wouldn’t touch the green smoothie. I’d love someone to prepare healthy meals for me all the time.
Kate’s diet sounds nice and be happy to give that watermelon salad a try plus how amazing would that sticky toffee pudding be.
That’s basically just a sensible, healthy diet. Not too hard to follow, though I’d definitely be having some chocolate too!
She is a gorgeous lady but I wouldn’t look to her for beauty inspirations
I’m more a bbq shapes at snack time kinda girl
That watermelon salad looks delish
Well that watermelon salad I could certainly get behind for summer – sounds light and yummy! And olives are a great snack!
Sounds like a sensible approach to food. Watermelon salad sounds delicious
That diet is severely lacking in joy. She also has the access to money and foods a lot of us don’t have.
Yes she could have that Italian coffee cake dessert – tiramisu! I’d ask the cooks to make a vegan one for me!!! Ahhh, I would like to be Kate just because of that!! 😀
Balance is always the key! along with the exercise 😉
We all need a chef to do all the meals . Then everyone can eat healthy foods and not stress about the cost of everything. If only we lived in that world
Watermelon salads are the best.
Plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and water.
Sounds so good but I’d have to omit the dairy and maybe replace it with something else – but it sounds so good with that feta in it!
I love to have that kind of diet. But hard to follow as i am cooking for my family everyday. They need heavy diet.
Did not realise she would eat so much fruit and vegetables
I prefer if others cook but usually it is me that does it in this house – if I didn’t have to cook like Kate I would rarely do it! I like to eat but I don’t like to have to cook it!
She always looks good
Oh, to have my own chef, gym, trainer and help around the home I would be in better shape. Kate has a lovely shaped body and she certainly keeps fit.
