If you’ve ever deep dived into Gwyneth Paltrow, you know that the stunning star is known to share her beauty and wellness thoughts (she even reflects on a few injectable fails over the years). But the thing is, right, they’re kind of left of field.

So, it’s kind of no surprise that it’s not the first time that Gwyneth Paltrow’s wellness routine has come into the spotlight. In fact, she’s actually kind of notorious for having, um, a rather divisive opinion. But speaking with Harper’s Bazaar recently, we came across a kind of refreshing take, so let’s see what she had to say…

Gwyneth Paltrow Wellness Ritual

Diet, Exercise and Wellness Practices

When it comes to wellness Gwyneth is seriously the poster child for having an all encompassing routine. And to be fair to her, mindful practises can definitely make a major difference in attitude.

Currently, her rituals include starting the day with a 20 minute transcendental medication with her husband. She finds meditation to be key to calm and makes sure to practice it throughout the day as well. Along with breathing practices, which help to regulate your nervous system (we think she could be onto something here).

And while ‘detoxing’ is something she’s copped flack for before, her only current detox is enjoying an infrared sauna.

When it comes to exercise, Gwyneth’s a true Tracy Anderson devotee (17 years strong). The star does an hour long session each day — no wonder she’s so fit — along with twice-weekly reformer Pilates sessions. On the weekends, she likes to get out and go for a nice long hike in nature. It’s an all round exercise routine.

And when the sin we’re all guilty of, sitting for too long, Gwyneth is totally on top of making sure she gets up and takes laps around her office to get the blood pumping again.

Gwyneth starts the day off with a smoothie, although these days she’s not super strict on an intermittent fasting routine, she just goes with what fits into her schedule and feels right. When asked what she would describe her diet as, she said “I’m sort of paleo right now. I didn’t eat meat for years and years but now I eat a little and I love fish. Being 51 years old, I’m mindful of making sure I have enough protein. I’m definitely not plant-based, although I eat a tonne of veg”.

And because she’s on top of eating a healthy, balanced diet she’s found the key to a good nights sleep. Eating earlier and not having a too ‘heavy’ meal. When you eat earlier “you have digested more and your sleep is better”, facts.

Wellness Accessories

When it comes to keys to the wellness puzzle, Gwyneth has a few products that she just can’t live without. The first? The rather exxy Oura Ring ($299 at Oura Ring), designed to follow everything from sleep patterns, to heart rate and even ovulation cycle Gwyneth credits this ring as “educational” in terms of learning her body.

She’s a total advocate for dry brushing (and so are we, our fave is the Black Chicken Remedies Garshana Dry Body Brush $34.95 at Adore Beauty). The circulation stimulating activity helps with exfoliation and for Gwyneth, she feels like it “wakes her up” in the mornings.

As for her evening routine, she takes a bath every single night (luxe) but makes sure to include muscle relaxing Epsom salts. Our faves? Bathefex Epsom Salts ($12 at Big W).

And there we have a totally normal and seriously refreshing take on wellness rituals from Gwyneth Paltrow.

  1. So she says she is paleo now? changes a lot, that only means no grains basically. Does she know that fish contain mercury and other toxins? Unless you eat at the top of the chain of fish or get it from pristine rivers, any ocean fish will be contaminated. Who wants the ring, nah not me. Srubbing, yes tick for that, and good ol’ epsos salts never let anyone down.
