“Getting older for me has meant learning to accept myself. When I was young a few kids teased me about my nose, so I hated it. Now after more than 40 years the penny dropped – my nose is meant to look this way. I learnt to accept it so much that I went out and got it pierced, and if someone thinks I’m too old for a nose stud, I don’t care. Getting older isn’t such a bad thing. My mum died in her late 40s, so I’m not ‘getting old’, I’m living!” – bh member Lisa359
“Not caring what others think about me anymore is awesome! Loving that! And feeling more confident in myself.” – bh member crystalclearwater
“No more periods! Fingers crossed, after 40 years of having them that I have seen the last of them” – bh member Trackydacky
“Menopause is WONDERFUL, isn’t it! I also like that I’ve got the self-confidence to speak up more often and not just put up with BS and stew about it later.” – bh member misfortune8
“Although I’m a relative spring chicken (will be 36 in less than 3 weeks), I think for me one of the best things about getting older is what some have already mentioned: caring less about what others think of me. I still occasionally have those moments, but thankfully for the most part I’ve let it go. I’ve also come to know and understand myself even better since my 30s began, which has been a blessing.” – bh member Seashells
“There’s a couple of things that I value about getting older. One is gaining more life experience, which allows you to empathise with others going through difficult times, either because you have gone through it personally or journeyed with someone who has. It also makes you appreciate things you previously took for granted. ” – bh member jupiter
“The older I get, the worse my eyesight gets, so I’m pretty sure I don’t have wrinkles anymore lol!” – bh member philippa495
“I find that I have more time to invest in myself, for example the gym, getaways with friends, further study – now that my kids are not small anymore. I can also afford to buy the nicer things in life and enjoy some great experiences.” – bh member MoonlightSak16
“I love getting older. I love having the time to take care of myself to ensure I’m fit and healthy so I can enjoy everything I want to do. Life experiences can be amazing and my brain is full of memories of my incredible journey through life.” – bh member onlyoni

Sometimes getting older is not much fun if one is not healthy, but if one can believe that it could be a great time in your life it all seems better.
I think I’ve commented on this already?

I used to hate birthdays, now I enjoy them and am grateful for each one.
I could do without the creeping weight gain, but I love that I care less and less what other people think.
Hopefully I would be a better person in the future 🙂
While I would like to look younger I must admit that getting older is a priviledge that not every has. I do try to grateful and continue to use products that keep my skin look as good as it can.
I’m not ‘getting old’, I’m living – I’ve learned to appreciate that as I have had many more years than my mum
The best thing about getting older is all the me time I have to finally do what I want to do when, where and how I want to do it. I have more vitality now in my 60’s than I probably had in my 30’s as i as was bringing up five daughters. It’s about the freedom and choice of being able to pursue new interests and hobbies and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Older but not that much wiser, but hopefully more tolerant
Absolutely
Live each day as if it were your last.
I love philippa495’s comment about her eyesight and wrinkles!
You appreciate the simplicity of life more I guess as you get older.
Haha love these comments!
With age comes a different kind of beauty.
I am looking forward to that day!
I don’t stress about the little things anymore.
Hmmmmm…….not feeling very positive about this getting older thing lately………
Not giving a rats what other people think of you. I’ve seen this in some older ladies in my life. I wish I could do that now.
Getting older is better than not
I like that there is a lot of happiness and peace about getting older – women now, more than ever, can have longer, happier and healthier lives than ever before! YAY!!
