While we all know diet soft drink isn’t exactly ‘healthy’, in moderation it’s certainly preferable to its sugary counterpart.

With this in mind, Coca-Cola has announced it will be bringing Coca-Cola Life – a reduced calorie version of the original Coke – to Aussie shores this week.

Sweetened with a mix of sugar and stevia, Coke Life first launched in South America in 2013 before being introduced in the UK and US markets earlier this year. It looks just like regular Coke, but has 89 calories (a third fewer than the original) and comes in a green can or bottle with a green label.

To spruik the new offering, Coca-Cola has scored British supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as an ambassador. (As if she wasn’t busy enough already being the ambassador for ModelCo!)

While I certainly won’t be downing litres of the new-and-improved drink, I think it’s great Coca-Cola is responding to global obesity concerns and offering us an alternative.
