It’s no secret Chrissie Swan has experienced weight loss in the last 12 months. However, the radio personality isn’t going to be the kind to promote any kind of ‘diet’ or ‘tricks’ following her transformation.
“I’m not going to talk about the size of my a*se. I’m not going to tell you what I eat in a day. Because I’ve read those stories and they make me feel bad about myself,” she said in an interview with The Australian Women’s Weekly.
What she will share is how the Melbourne lockdown inspired her lifestyle change. The 48-year-old no longer drinks alcohol and walks for two hours a day.
“We couldn’t go out to dinner, we couldn’t go to a friend’s house, they couldn’t come to us, we couldn’t go outside five kilometres. All we could do was walk, and so that’s what I did,” she told the publication.
Previously, Chrissie had also opened up on The Project about quitting alcohol during the lockdown.
“I really am reticent to be the poster girl for sobriety because it was a decision I made for myself after giving it a fair nudge in the first lockdown last year,” she said while on air.
“If you’re thinking, ‘Oh, maybe I’m drinking a bit much or it’s not helping me anymore’, I think that’s the biggest thing I’ve taken from it, is that it didn’t help.”
Around the same time in 2021, it was reported that Chrissie and her partner Chris had ended their relationship. The pair continue to co-parent and Chrissie addressed the rumours in the same interview with The Australian Women’s Weekly.
“It’s not my story to tell … but we are very good friends. We like each other very much. We still live together. So it’s not really that different,” she said.
Through all the changes, Chrissie appears as positive and healthy as ever and we couldn’t be happier for her.

What do you think of Chrissie’s healthy lifestyle approach? Do you walk for exercise?
Good on her -I love walking too but do enjoy my odd glass of wine or brandy
We walk most days and although my husband has a beer or a glass of wine in the evening, I very, very seldom drink alcohol. Just as happy with an OJ
My thoughts exactly.
She looks great!
I walk and use a exercise bike, she looks quite different now.
I have loved Chrissie from when she first came on our scene in Big Brother years ago and have followed her ever since. She was great on the show The Circle – such a funny lady and then she went on radio and she hasn’t looked back. She looks fabulous and good on her. Will have to buy the Women’s Weekly now 🙂
Chrissie looks so good, nearly unrecognizable. I am going to start walking more.
Good on her sg
She looks amazing.
I like walking but if it’s raining or too hot I try to exercise at home. I can’t give up alcohol because I don’t drink it.
I had no idea about her weight loss but as long as she is happy and healthy.
She looks so healthy! Good for her!
She looks really good and all that walking has paid off. As for the drinking, it’s not something I would want to give up. I don’t drink to excess and it doesn’t affect my health and I enjoy my sparking and the odd gin or bourbon. I gave up for a month once, never lost any weight, no improvement in my skin or anything else health or looks wise changed. I like a drink at the end of the day at least 3 times a week and would not enjoy being a non-drinker.
I went for a lot of walks during the lockdown, too. I’m always inactive throughout summer – I can’t stand the heat, but I’ll be back into it when the weather cools down.
2hrs a day is impressive! Chrissie looks great – good on her!
I can’t drink due a medication I’m on. I didn’t really drink before taking this medication.
Yeah! No to alcohol. I never liked even a bit the taste of those beverages…and I grew up in a bar. Alcohol speeds up ageing process
After excess fat loss and quitting alcohol she does look quite different! And gorgeous
She does hey? Good on her it is not easy
Sobriety can do incredible things for people.
Again, as she mentioned, health is nothing to do with weight or weight loss, and it’s important we all remember that!
I think if you can be happy with yourself and you are not too over weight as this can cause health problems and n odd glass of whatever life can be pretty good . It is usually excess that causes a lot of health problems
Love walking myself and do it regularly. I think it’s great that Chrissie Swan has taken a positive step towards improving her health – she looks great!
Well done, good on her.
Im really glad she stayed positive through everything. During lockdown I set tasks for myself to do after work to keep me moving.
Lots of people have been on a health kick in lockdown
Lockdown caused many people to re-think their health and lifestyle
I walk for exercise and I enjoy it and I started with a short walk, until I got quicker and then increased. And it was lockdown that kept me going. I had no other reason not to go for a walk
Yeah I love walking too – when I started walking for exercise about 8 years ago, it wasn’t long before we got our dog who is soooooo cute! It is the only dog that our little family unit have had and she is so great to take walking for company if I have to sometimes go on my own. Most the time either my hubby or my daughter meet up with me and we walk together and talk and it is just the loveliest exercise I’ve ever done really.
glad to see and hear Chrissie has her ‘groove’ back! She looks fantastic!!
She’s smart, funny and cool and she looks great. I don’t like alcohol. It knocks me around, even a sip makes me feel awful.
So that’s the secret! Now just to find time to walk for 2 hours a day
Well I think an hour is more realistic.
I have read a few things that she’s done a lot more than walking and stopped drinking alcohol. Apparently she’s had surgery.
Like lap band surgery?
She looks absolutely gorgeous
Good on ya Chrissy
Even if it’s best for everyone, the time surrounding a relationship breakup is often sad. My sympathies.
Chrissie has just given me the inspiration to start walking again. She looks great.
Same here Sooty!
Wow what a transformation
I think both aspects of her weight loss are important for general health. More exercise and less alcohol.
My thoughts exactly!
I admire people who break up and keep living together
She looks amazing!!!
Who is this woman?
Crissie is unrecognisable to me. She looks like a whole new younger woman. Good on her.
She looks phenomenal!
Love her attitude. Go Chrissie!
She has done so well. What a difference in her appearance, I’m certain her health has improved so much.
I like her new look. Sure she worked hard for this look.
Wow she looks amazing
Walking is fantastic for mind, body and spirit!
She is quite lovely and it is hard to diet and loose weight. I dont need to loose weight but wish I could get rid of the tummy I seem to have received in the last few months. Any suggestions.
She has done an amazing job.
I love walking and are so fortunate to have a doggy walking buddy, I still enjoy the occasional glass of wine.
Love her attitude and she’s looking great!
Always good to see someone improve their health. Alcohol is the first thing everyone should give up, it is so debilitating on your health and ages you fast.
A little drastic but still awesome
she looks good, well done
She looks really good 🙂
