We know Brooke Shields to be the ‘brows’ of a generation, but the star is just so much more than that. And if we’re being totally honest, Brooke is going at the very top of our ‘we wish we could meet’ list. Because the more we read, we realise she’s just the most down to earth star there is.
But it’s not been an easy journey for her. Speaking with Glamour Brooke opened up about her grand mal seizure, which changed the way she viewed the world. She admits it’s been a process getting to the point where she’s happy in herself, because as she says, “I love food, love alcohol and love life, and I want to be healthy for my heart”.
So, how does she stay fit and healthy after such a huge health scare?
Brooke Shields Workout Routine
When she was younger, her best workout was the rigour of performing in a Broadway show. But now, she tells Today, “it’s harder to stay in shape”, and not only that, “it’s much easier to get out of shape quickly”, which she said was “a shock to the system”.
So, when trying to find exercise routines, she makes sure to find something that she “actually really enjoy[s] doing rather than just beating [her]self up in the gym”.
The workout she’s been loving lately, is a “really difficult pilates”, specifically the “no impact” Nofar method, that leaves her “dripping wet”. Even though the workout is gruelling, she’ll always add on “some kind of cardio” whether it be a “SoulCycle class or a rower”. And it doesn’t have to be a long stint, either; she finds even 10 minuets makes a difference.
But because of her seizure, she’s become mindful in the way she drinks water so that her sodium levels remain high, so even after dripping out all that sweat she’ll be sure to “pace herself” rehydrating.
But don’t expect Brooke to be dropping her ‘diet’ anytime soon, because Brooke is seriously in her IDGAF era, and life’s too short not to enjoy it!

Do you have a fave workout? Would you try Brooke Shields pilates routine?
I love reformer pilates
I don’t have a workout routine, but I do walking and that helps.
I love walking too !!
I haven’t tried Pilates but it’s a very clever system that offers multi benefits
No I haven’t tried it either
I also haven’t tried Pilates and this all looks like a lot of troubel.
I have heard so much about pilates.
I’ve had lots of Grand Mal Seizures but it has’nt changed the way I see the world, I still like to stay fit though. Love the retro pic!
Good on you Lisa359.Don’t let it define you XX
I assume Brooke has been diagnosed with Epilepsy.
Oh really, that would not be good or nice for her.
I doubt it, it sounds like a one-off seizure due to low sodium levels.
Not for me but good on her !
Lol, that photo is so ’80’s!
I do a bit of pilates, but I’d rather go for a walk.

So true, getting out of shape seems to happen in only a few days
It sure does and then trying to get back into shape takes forever.
She had a seizure? Poor woman. She’s lovely.
I am happy with my current workout routine.
I need to get back into Pilates. Great way to exercise and tone
Pilates is really hard if you have no stomach muscles!
Pilates is tough but if you do it often , it gets easier
Brooke is lovely, and I have not tried reformer pilates
I usually do lots of walking, but I’ve slacked off lately. I need to hit the weights more often for my bones too, so my doc says.
Ooff. I don’t have enough stomach muscles to even start on workouts like this.
I would love a reformer.
