Ellen Pompeo Has The Best Hollywood Smile, According To Dentists

To make it as a Hollywood actor, having a perfect set of teeth seems almost as essential as attending drama school. Put on just about any movie or television show and you’ll be inundated with pearly whites and hours of orthodontic work. 

Yet amongst thousands of dazzling grins, Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo has managed to take out the title for the actress with ‘the most attractive smile’.

But it’s a subjective opinion, isn’t it? Well it was, until now. 

With the intention to accurately determine the most attractive smile and put the matter to rest once and for all, Express Dentist created the “Golden Ratio” — an algorithm used to measure the attractiveness of smiles, which was put to the test on the Forbes highest-paid actors list. 

In order to formulate this method of measurement, the algorithm took into account a minimum of three photographs of each celebrity and then determined their “prominent facial features which served as anchor points to calculate facial geometric ratios.” 

Among the categories measured were overall smile attractiveness, golden ratio score, and teeth whiteness.

Ellen Pompeo ranked number one for the most attractive smile of the actresses listed; a title that might rival her Golden Globe nomination as one of her career highlights. She scored a 5.90 out of 10 for her overall smile attractiveness and a golden ratio score of 53.93 per cent, and her teeth whiteness at 87.75 per cent.

The first place position was almost snatched by Gal Gadot, who earned a 5.90 out of 10, 45.10 per cent and 92.89 per cent scorecard, putting her in second place. 

Following on from Gal was Melissa Mccarthy, with  Scarlett Johansson and Elizabeth Moss in fourth and fifth place respectively.

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar topped the men’s category with a score of 9.04 out of 10 for most attractive smile — almost doubling that of first place in the female category (rude). 

Behind Akshay was Ben Affleck, followed by Will Smith, Adam Sandler and Ryan Reynolds. Very interesting indeed.
