Going to the chapel…

I’m in bride mode. Don’t get too excited, I haven’t gone from single gal to bridezilla overnight, mum’s getting married! So, flanked by my big and little sisters, I’m on bridesmaid duty, which given my day job, also encompasses beauty duty. And in the spirit of giving – and because weddings make me super, duper gooey inside – today I’m sharing everything I’ve learnt with brides to be Australiawide.

First up stress can wreck havoc with your skin. So stock up on Dermalogica Stress Relief Set (packed with glorious calming goodies) and HERRON Stress Relief. And if you do have a horrible stress-related breakout, Formula 10.0.6 Overnight Success will work wonders. The spot minimising patches contain tea tree and grape seed, known for their antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.

You may want to step up your exfoliant regimen a notch or two also to guarantee a wonderful wedding day glow. Although always remember to a) exfoliate gently in a circular motion and b) check with a skincare expert about the best frequency for your exfoliant of choice (you don’t want to be rubbed raw for the big day!).

Make-up wise, it’s trial, and trial again. As Michelle Crofts, wedding make-up artist (and Harlotte creator) explains: “A trial gives you the chance to talk through the look you would like to achieve and co-ordinate colours.”

And there’s no point saying I do without a perfectly styled ‘do so consider Alan Coban’s top tips: find a great hairdresser at least three months in advance, invest in trims every six weeks to minimise split ends, have weekly treatments to improve hair condition, keep heat styling to a minimum to keep hair healthy and stay out of the sun to minimise colour fade. Thanks Alan!

And enjoy the big day!
