I cannot stress this enough: my hair extensions made my wedding. Okay, okay, okay, so did the abundance of family all in one room, seeing friends that had flown in from overseas, and of course, the fact that I got to marry the love of my life. But truthfully, the added volume, thickness and length on my normally thin, fine and pretty lacklustre hair was the icing on the three-tiered vanilla sponge cake.
And the most surprising part of all? If it wasn’t for this article, no one would’ve suspected a thing.
For anyone whose hair is limp and scraggly by default (it’s me, hi!) and wants to hold a hairstyle for longer than five minutes, tape-in hair extensions (and I’m not being dramatic) will transform your life. Take it from someone who has hair that will become knotty and destroyed from simply wearing a hooded jacket.
Thanks to the stronghold that comes part and parcel with hair extensions, the loose waves from my wedding day were still totally intact as I jumped into our hotel pool four days later on our honeymoon.
Everything I thought I knew about hair extensions (and was SO wrong about)…
Call it years of watching Jersey Shore, but I’d previously shied away from hair extensions because well – like a clip-in novelty hair piece or a hair wrap you’d get done at the markets – I thought they were incredibly visible and to be honest, kind of tacky.
News flash: I was dead wrong. There’s a first time for everything, right?
Can I speak for all hair extension salons worldwide? No, of course not. But if you’re visiting the boutique extension specialist salon, Emilly Hadrill, like I did, you’re in incredibly safe hands.
My experience was outstanding (down to the Lotus biscuits I received with my tea).
Two weeks out from my wedding day, I visited the salon for a maintenance appointment (something you do every five to seven weeks).
During this appointment each tape was washed and custom coloured so it would seamlessly blend in with my natural hair. From there, they were re-taped and ready to roll with me down the aisle.
Are hair extensions really worth it?
Yes. As with any good beauty treatment, the better the job the more subtle the result. This absolutely applies for Emilly Hadrill’s tape-in extensions.
Though I’m a spray tan enthusiast, a lash lift and tint advocate, and of course, a HydraFacial fan girl, I can say without a doubt, hair extensions are easily my favourite child.
And yes, even more so than a brow wax. Mind-blowing, I know.
Have you ever tried tape hair extensions? If not, would you like to?
Gorgeousness!
Your hairstyle is beautiful – congratulations on your wedding!
I probably can’t see myself trying hair extensions as I’ve had long hair for most of life and since I’ve gone shorter, I can’t see myself going back, even if it was for a special event.
No I wouldn’t go back to long hair but for someone with thin hair this would be amazing
I would must say it’s amazing to have such a lovely hair style at weeding …
So natural and effortless looking! Absolutely stunning!

I like the dress too, the whole look is very natural and elegant and not too over-the-top
yes I hope the style lasts
I have a lot of hair so I don’t think I need extensions
me too but if I did,t have very thick hair I would be very temped to check extensions out

I have long hair, I never tried hair extensions.
I’ve got more than enough hair of my own so extensions aren’t something I need unless I wanted them for length.

Wait, is your husband the same person from the tv show about the superhero Jessica Jones??
I was watching it last night coincidentally.
Huh. I’ve been unconvinced about hair extensions too, but this article has changed my mind. I might consider them now.
I’ve always worried that extensions ruin your natural hair.
