Bridal hair trends for your 2020 wedding

Some say you’ll never look more beautiful than you do on your wedding day (no pressure or anything!) I don’t know about you, but as a bride-to-be, I feel an immense amount of pressure to look and feel my best on my big day.

For me, having perfect hair is an integral part of that equation on my wedding day. But with so many different styles to choose from, deciding on the right one for you can be quite a task! It all depends on the look you’re striving to achieve and the theme of your big day.

PERFECT BIG DAY ‘DO: classic Many brides opt for the more traditional type of hairstyle for their Big Day. Think chignons, flicky ends and chic buns at the nape of the neck. These classic styles would be perfect for a romantic or traditional-themed wedding. The key to a lot of these styles is to have as much hair as possible to work with. If you’re growing yours out or need a little more density added to your thinning locks, include  L’Oréal Professionnel Serioxyl Denser Hair Gel in your routine a few months before the wedding.

It’s also important to visit a hairdresser for a trial style to gage what it will look like on the day, or if you’re constructing a do-it-yourself ‘do, ensure you keep a serum and holding spray close by to ensure you keep frizzies at bay and your hair looks shiny (but not greasy!) all day long.

PERFECT BIG DAY ‘DO: modern So you consider yourself a new age bride, right? Odds are you won’t be sporting a hairstyle considered too classic. My guess is you’ll be after something a little more contemporary; left-of-centre, even? Perhaps you’ll go with poker-straight strands, side-swept curls or even a carefully-constructed top knot? Either way we’re sure you’ll strive to make it fit with your theme and complement your overall look perfectly.

PERFECT BIG DAY ‘DO: boho If you’re thinking of having an outdoor wedding at the park or beach, then a fuss-free boho style is probably right up your alley. Try rocking a head of beach babe-style messy waves with an interesting feature like a braid or beautiful hair accessory. To add volume and keep your messy waves in tact, use a texturising spray.

bh recommends: TONI&GUY Sea Salt Texturising Spray and Glow Lab Hair Serum.

PERFECT BIG DAY ‘DO: short and chic If you’re donning a shorter crop, it can be a good idea to investigate ways that you can change it up to achieve a look that suits your big day theme. Whether you lift the crown, sleek it back or part it to the side, there’s sure to be a super stylish ‘do to suit you. Secure this style with a gel or holding mousse to keep your locks flexbile and in place.

bh recommends: Glow Lab Hair Serum and Affinage Professional Moisture Foam.
