Farrah Fawcett has sadly passed away after a long and brave battle with cancer. As hoards of fans struggle to come to terms with her death, we look back at what a massive influence the 62-year-old Charlie’s Angels star had on the beauty industry.
When Fawcett burst onto our screens as sporty and athletic angel, Jill Munroe, a star was born. She shot to fame with her va va voom waves and all-American bronzed beauty. Poster sales went through the roof, she posed in that red swimsuit looking every inch the blonde bombshell that she was, her hairstyle was emulated by millions of women worldwide and she became the international sex symbol of the ‘70s and ‘80s.
Back in the series’ heyday every girl wanted to be her with that long, tousled mane so here are our top tips for those famous flicks:
How to do the Farrah flicks:
The style works best on layered, thick or wavy hair as it already has lots of natural body.
If your hair is thick, take thin sections of dry hair and roll around medium-sized rollers (try Lady Jayne Rollers – Self Hold). If your hair is fine, put the rollers in wet hair.
Mist the sections with L’Oreal Professionnel Elnett Satin Hairspray and blow-dry with VS Sassoon Premiere Series Milano Professional AC 2000.
Leave hair to cool for 5-10 minutes.
Unroll the curlers and apply a small amount of Tresemme No Frizz Serum.
Using Lady Jayne Brush – Vent, place the brush inside the curl and flick the hair out. Smooth down at the back and flick up the bottom ends.
Finish with lots of L’Oreal Professionnel Elnett Satin Hairspray to set.
Now out you go disco diva and do Farrah proud…
