So for those who are short on time, need a refresh after a gym session or are simply trying to resist washing their hair every day, keep a can (or four) of dry shampoo close, spritz away (don’t be shy) and massage into oily or lifeless roots as required.
Not all dry shampoos are created equal though, and so to help you find one that successfully absorbs excess oil without weighing down your hair or leaving a chalky, grey mess all over the roots, here are our top five dry shampoos.
Batiste Dry Shampoo – Blush
With a 4-star rating and over 440 member reviews, Batiste’s Dry Shampoo in the scent Blush takes out the #1 spot.
The water-less formulation absorbs dirt, oil and product build-up to gently refresh hair while leaving it with a light and floral scent made up of red hibiscus, orange and peony.
You say: “Freshens hair and it’s so gentle, leaving my locks clean and not weighed down. Wonderful to use in between washes and it adds body and texture without the need for water.” – beauty fan 69

You say: “This one is much finer and distributes much more easily through the hair. It feels like it absorbs more oils as I have to use much less of this dry shampoo.” – Bun

A’kin Dry Shampoo
If you need something a little more heavy-duty, A’kin’s dry shampoo absorbs four times more oil than most competitor products on the market. The 100 per cent vegan formula leaves hair full and fresh without any residue build-up.
You say: “I have tried many dry shampoos and not many have worked for me, but this is just perfect. The spray is even and strong, it gets all my roots easily. It doesn’t leave a white cast at all. It absorbs all my oils and any smells but doesn’t make my hair feel dry or gritty or dirty.” – bebeautiful34

Got ages ago now batiste and decided to use. So effective. Though scents are too much and start off with slight bug spray undertone. Now using waterless one, so good! Effect lasts longer. And smells better too.
I’m not a huge fan of dry shampoo
Klorane is still my favourite.
I’ve used Batiste for years, I’ve tried others but none have been as good
I find Klorane with nettles works best on my oily hair, but I always prefer to give it a proper wash, if possible.
havent had to use this since lockdown – maybe the only benefit
Yeh we’ve had a few surprising benefits here too! : )
I’ve got a few floating around here and I do usually try to only use them as a last resort – they are such a lifesaver though when it comes to the crunch.
I don’t like dry shampoo, it irritates my scalp and my hair feels yuck
I have the opposite – Oily roots
I dont use Dry Shampoo very often. Its an emergency product for me so I dont really have a favorite brand as such. Klorane products never seem to let me down though.
I have the khlorane now, but am open and willing to try a few new ones
I wash my hair daily, so no real need for dry shampoo.
I swear by the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day dry shampoo. Can’t live without it
Thank you I love dry shampoo and see this as a Godsend.
I really don’t like dry shampoo. I had two handbag sized cans that I found recently. The cans either lost their gas or the shampoo dried up. Oh well. The cans got recycled.
I’ve never really got into dry shampoo, even when my hair feels incredibly greasy it usually looks ok. I would always wash my hair after exercise as sweat is bad for my scalp and I’m not sure dry shampoo would help there.
I used to love Batiste but now I find it makes my hair look really dry and straw like. Currently experimenting with others including aveda micellar hair refresh and the R&Co dry mist.
I’m not a great lover of dry shampoo. I only use it in desperation.
Oooh, I have to try the LOreal shampoo.
I always have a few bottles of Batiste dry shampoo in my cupboard. I stock up when they’re half price. It makes a great different to my hair on the days I don’t feel like washing it.
Batiste is always a staple in my bathroom
Nice to have Batiste dry shampoo in the cupboard for emergencies but not a great replacement for regular washing.
I prefer to just wash my hair as dry shampoos tend to make my hair dirtier and dry like straw.
I am also intrugued by a product called dry conditioner
I love Batisse
I love the whole range of Batiste Dry Shampoo’s.
I have dry hair, so I don’t use dry shampoo
Not a huge fan of dry shampoo , I only use it occasionally.
Love the batiste dry shampoo in blush, smells so good too
Only tried the batiste one but L’Oréal looks good too
i love dry shampoo, it is very handy
Batiste all the way.
No matter how many I try, I always come back to the old classic… Batiste!
