The Ordinary Sulphate Cleanser For Body and Hair

Thought sulphates in shampoo were a bad thing? The Ordinary want to set the record straight on that misconception by introducing a hair and body wash that champions the ingredient. The cleanser features SLES-2, which is a gentle, effective and biodegradable surfactant.

bh’s Sam says: I thought the sulphate cleanser would foam a lot and provide a seriously deep (almost stripping) clean like a clarifying shampoo. I couldn’t have been more wrong. It was very mild, foamed moderately and even felt more on the moisturising side. It’s clear and slightly runnier than your regular shampoo, with zero fragrance. I did find myself using more than I expected but the results were pretty good. I think it may have helped reduce some of my frizz and it provided a fresh, clean feel without drying out my hair.

The Ordinary Behentrimonium Chloride 2% Conditioner

According to The Ordinary, behentrimonium chloride is a pretty common ingredient found in conditioners (who knew?). Keeping the formula fairly simple, it’s said to improve the feel and look of hair after one use and won’t leave hair feeling heavy.

The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factors + HA

A scalp treatment isn’t what we first expected when we heard The Ordinary was launching hair products. But then again, their serums are spectacular, so why wouldn’t we want something similar for our hair? Natural Moisturizing Factors are the key player here, providing protection and hydration to the scalp for overall hair health.

bh’s Sam says: The scalp treatment is incredibly lightweight and leaves no residue. I often worry when applying products to my scalp/root area that my hair will look greasy but it did nothing of the sort. It encourages use before bedtime and I’ve grown quite accustomed to a scalp massage as I apply it. Like the shampoo, it’s fragrance free and so I found it really pleasant and easy to use. It comes packaged very similarly to serum, with a pipette to control each dose. I had never really paid much attention to my scalp before, so I’ll happily continue using this and see what the long-term results are like.

    • I have bought these and just used, the shampoo does not foam up much at all, but surprisingly cleans quite good!! The conditioner feels amazing on the hair, my hair was quite tangled after rinsing (it usually is) once it started air drying it does feel much smoother and softer. First use though so we shall see with continued use

  1. I am so excited for this. Love that they are going to re-educate public about sulphates (massively misunderstood and absolutely green washed to the point we can’t have constructive dialogue about it).

    • Not much!! The conditioner really surprised me, it is concentrated. My hair is really long (waist length, thick) and i didnt need much at all. Usually I have to use heeaps but this one about the size of a 50c coin & a 20c roughly was enough which is less than what I usually have to use to coat the lengths

  2. I find it interesting how different my hair feels after using various shampoos and conditioners. I’m always interested in giving products a try to see which ones work for me.

  3. The Ordinary Hair Care line is a fantastic addition to the hair care industry. The products are high-quality, affordable, and effective at nourishing and strengthening the hair. I particularly love the Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density, which has made a noticeable difference in the thickness and health of my hair. The brand’s commitment to transparent labeling and using scientific ingredients is also a major plus.
