How to create an easy, effortless hairstyle

On show at Kate Sylvester at RAFW were gorgeous, flowing, naturally-messy locks. Sadly most of our tresses don’t look like this when we wake of a morning, but the good news is, it’s super easy to get the look.RELATED: What does your hairstyle say about you?
We caught up with Redken 5th Avenue NYC‘s Kenneth Stoddart, who styled the girls for the show, to pick his brains about the best products for an easy and effortless naturally, disheveled look.

GET THE LOOK:

  1.  Shampoo and towel dry hair
  2. Use a leave-in conditioner, Redken 5th Avenue NYC Clear Moisture Instant Polishing Prep is perfect as it’s nice and lightweight
  3. Use Redken For Men Bulk Up Spray to thicken and then leave the hair to dry naturally
  4. Pull back hair from the temples, securing at the crown with pins (try: Lady Jayne Bobby Pins)
  5. Rake fingers through hair to separate slightly
  6. Finish with Redken 5th Avenue NYC Outshine 01 to tame flightly flyaways

AND MAKEUP TO MATCH:

Liz Kelsh, MAC’s Make-up Director kept it simple and ‘50s movie starish, think Katharine Hepburn. Kelsh said, “It’s a kind of ‘nothing look’ with big, messy eyebrows which we created with MAC Eye Brows in all the shades so that they look natural and busy, not one big block of colour.” On the skin Kelsh used the gorgeous MAC Face and Body Foundation for sheer, natural-looking coverage and finished with MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner SPF 15 in Gentle Coral on the lips (which is a personal fave in the bh office).

What do you think of this look? Would you try it?
